Finale Night: Dick vs. Daniele - September 18

The story so far:It’s been a big season of Twists this summer as 14 houseguests have played a game of Big Brother like none other. We now are left with the final two, Dick and Daniele Donato and someone is going to take home $500,000, but who will it be and how will the houseguests react when they learn that Eric was America’s player?

For all intensive purposes, the game ended when Zach was evicted. With Dick and Daniele dominating the game and becoming the final two, everyone in America knows where the money is going. The question is who will the jury choose to reward individually on their merits in the game? Daniele, who dominated challenge after challenge winning a season-record tying 5 vetoes; Or Dick whose abrasive personality and strategy rubbed everyone the wrong way, but also took everyone out of the house?

First, member number 7 needs to join the jury. Zach walks into the sequester house and everyone is actually disappointed. They admit that they never thought they would be rooting for him, but they also tell him that if he had made it that he would have won by a 6-1 vote.

But who will win now? Eric has been given the directive from America to vote for Dick and campaign for him and Eric seems somewhat happy with this.

Dusting is afraid that giving Dick the win will condone his behavior, but Eric wants someone to tell him where the rulebook says that you have to be nice.

Then Jen makes the smartest comment of the season saying that all the members of the jury are idiots for not going after Dick and Daniele earlier in the game. Jen further says that she refuses to vote for Dick and that she feels Daniele was a significantly better competitor than Dick

Eric backs her off of that comment though saying that Dick won 3 HoHs and the crucial veto that saved his own neck.

Then in a great comment, Jameka calls Daniele the Pimp and Evil Dick the Ho saying that Daniele dispatched Dick like a minion to do the dirty work while she reaped all the benefits.

And now the questioning:

Dustin asks the final 2, and Dick specifically, how he feels sitting next to a daughter that said I want to sit next to my Dad because everyone hates him. Dick scoffs at the questions and does not care.

Amber wants to know why she should give her vote to Daniele considering what she did to her boyfriend with Nick. Daniele claims that Amber and nobody else for that matter knows what is going on in her personal life and that her decisions as far as that goes are none of her business.

Jessica asks who deserves to sit beside them had one of them not made final 2. Dick says it never crossed his mind. Eric asks then for the real reason each jury member would deserve to be in the final 2. Here are Dick’s responses:

Dustin: I don’t believe he does
Jen Absolutely does not deserve it
Amber: She made no real strategic moves
Jessica: Made some good HoH moves
Eric: the best player in this game, force to be reckoned with
Jameka: We let her stay around and I think she appreciates it
Zach: almost eked out a win, some respect

Then Daniele is asked by Zach what she learned from each Jury member while living in the house. Here are Daniele’s responses:

Eric: his sense of humor
Jessica: her sense of happiness
Amber: her huge heart
…yeah….special….

Dick responses:

Dustin: to be careful with overconfidence
Jen: that there is a real person deep inside every person
Jameka: the best hearted person in this place
Zach: underestimating will and heart is not a good idea.

Jameka asks what Daniele’s biggest move was, not involving her father?

Daniele cites her manipulation against Eric during her first HoH and later backdooring Jen.

Speaking of Jen, she has something to say. Jen lets Dick and Daniele know that she does not respect either of them as people, but she wants to know what Dick has gotten out of spending time with Daniele as father and daughter. He says that this time has been the most valuable thing to him and that if you can’t tell that, you’re and idiot.

Over and out.

In the BB8 house Daniele is whining about the questioning feeling that there was too much campaigning, almost calling her father out on the carpet. Maybe she thinks that she isn’t going to win? Maybe she just needed to be dramatic…

Now each houseguest will seal their vote and the votes will be revealed… after the break!

(Break’s over)

And now the votes! …but first let’s talk to some of the old houseguests. Joe is proud of Dustin much as Carol is proud of Jessica. Mike was rooting for Zach to make it into the final 2 and Kail isn’t surprised Daniele and Dick lasted as long as they did, after all she knew they were strong and wanted them out early.

And NOW the votes… WAIT! Let’s reveal the America’s player twist. Jaws drop when Eric’s secret is revealed, but no one reacts too crazily. Jessica isn’t mad at all and Eric calms her saying that his feelings were real and that he had been dying to tell her sooner.

Finally it is actually time for the votes…

Eric and America voted for Dick
Jameka voted for Daniele
Dustin voted for Dick
Jen voted for Daniele
Zach voted for Dick
Amber voted for Dick
And Jessica voted for Dick

That means that Dick is the winner of Big Brother 8 by a vote of 5-2. Daniele will take home the 2nd place prize of $50,000 and Big brother 8 is officially a wrap. So until next summer, remember, you reap what you sow and expect the unexpected.
