Three up, three down, and Vijay's hoping for an increased seed in the TOC.

Vijay Balse
orig. Mumbai, India
chemical engineer
$70,801, three days
Becki Norris
Quincy, MA
science/math teacher
Shelby Sadler
Rockville, MD
editor/writer

Vijay starts with $200 on the ____. Shelby finds the Daily Double under $800 Also an Airline. She makes it true on this: this model was Lincoln's first front-wheel drive car.  "What is Continental?" Correct for $2800! She has $7000 at the half to $4800 for Becki. Vijay's $2200 means that he'll start Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 Bond, Atomic Bond. Shelby finds the first Daily Double under $200 the British Nobility Ladder. She bets the level on this: no. 5, the first of the 5 alphabetically. "What is earl?" Baron, dropping her to $11,000. Vijay finds the other under $1200 He Who Lives By the Sword..., betting $1000 on this: in an old poem, Unferth gives this title hero the sword called Hrunting. "Who is 'Beowulf'?" Correct for $17,200. He leads going into the final with $18,000 to Shelby's $12,200. Becki's still in it with $3200.

Final Jeopardy! in "The Internet": words regularly censored out of Chinese blogs include minzhu, which means this, from the Greek for people. Correct response: what is democracy?

Only Becki gets this right, but Vijay plays conservatively to win another $11,599, giving him $82,400 for four days.
