Round of 3:
The Wheel of Death Round
May 13
Chico:
How's it going, America, I'm Chico... That's Jason.
Jason: What's up.
Chico: We're waiting for a Pepper.. Meanwhile, here's what he
missed...A Ford music video with "Break My Stride"...An Idol Gives
Back update from Alicia Keys...
Jason: ...a lame promo for Night At The Museum 2...
Chico: ... and most importantly... Get this... a salute to... the
American Idol desk. Which is actually going to the Smithsonian.
Jason: We have 88M Votes waiting and a 1M vote difference between the
top 2
Chico: But who will not be going to the final 2? We'll find out...
once Noah from Rwanda sings "The World's Greatest", which he learned
in English in one night.
Jason: Very nice.
Chico: That is determination you can respect... and ultimately, I
respect it.
Jason: I do too.
Chico: And... Whoa, dude, So You Think You Can Dance is NEXT WEEK!
Jason: We know this.
Chico: Okay... $5 and a text of ALIVE to 90999 can help keep kids like
Noah alive...Okay, while I get into my work gear, Jason's going to
start us off with...
Chico: SAFE... TROUBLE... OUT!
Jason: Alright...
Chico: This week, a little different. J, you're only giving us ONE
name... and why he's NOT going to the final.
Jason: Danny Gokey. He isn't going because he didn't expand his fan
base and his songs were too bland and too old.
Chico: It was your classic tale of two halves. First half... bland and
boring. Could make a case for anyone leaving. Second half... a little
more dynamic. Could make a case for anyone staying. So you have to go
with body of work. One is a twister of the norm. Another sticks to his
guns and what works... And the third... is the entire package. So do
you go with the person who's consistent or a person who continually
surprises? The past favors consistency, and therefore...For ME at
least...OUT: Kris Allen
Gordon: Adam is safe because he's going to get all the rock vote while
the pop vote is split. Danny didn't expand his fan base and while Kris
is coming on, the question is, is he too late? I'm guessing he is and
Kris leaves.
Grandma Pepper: I didn't love Danny's performances. I thought Kris was
great and I loved Adam's song choices. I think Adam is safe. I think
it boils down to Danny and Kris, and I think Danny's fan base is
stronger. OUT: Kris.
Gordon: I think you have a toss up between Danny and Kris for gone. I
even think Adam could leave and it wouldn't be a shock.
Chico: Okay, we're starting the cuts early... which is weird.
Gordon: Who bets that all we're doing is bios and no results will be
revealed until the end?
Chico: Right here.
Jason: Gotcha.
Chico: With that... we're going to Milwaukee first. Home of... the
Gokey.
Chico: We see a weather report with Simon's face representing a cold
front, a fan running after him.. literally... and a parade. And Danny
at a Brewers game pitching
Jason: Business time.
Chico: We dim the lights now... Danny was energetic, but the dancing
was desperate. In the second round, Danny was stunning and a
masterclass. The vote... will be revealed momentarily.
Gordon: Which gives us time for...
Jason: Kris Allen
Chico: Kris heads back to Conway, Arkansas. A trip that would already
prove lucrative... He's getting free cheese dip for life. Really?
Cheese dip?
Jason: Yum.
Chico: Once again, it's a trip to the local Fox station...
Gordon: And we welcome all the little Ashley Perls voting for us
Chico: From Conway, we go to Little Rock. And from there, we go to
Maumelle.
Jason: and back home
Chico: ... and then to the University of Central Arkansas...and then
back to Conway for a parade. And a proclamation of Kris Allen Day. Now
to some results...First round, Simon had words for their choice of
song. Kara hopes for more taking chances. Second round... "Heartless"
was better than the original, and he's back in the game...
Chico: We'll get to the result later.
Gordon: And now, let's bring in Adam Lambert
Don: Yo.
Jason: Lets
Gordon: Adam calls it a wakeup call as he comes to San Diego and gets
visited by a streaker.
Don: lol
Gordon: He also gets visited by policemen. Screaming fans, a green
screen, tour buses, and look - a concert! He goes to the classroom and
gets to talk to the children. It's all about the children. And a Star
Spangled banner in front of the children and a parade later, he's
done. And if you've tuned in after the first 45 minutes, you've missed
absolutely nothing.
Jason: ROFL
Gordon: We see more shots of the eliminated contestants. One of these
3 will join them. 88 million votes have been cast.
Gordon: The performance in the center...Katy Perry, with an Adam
Lambert monogram on her cloak.
Don: Interesting...
Gordon: Next...the moment America has been waiting for. No, not Katy
Perry taking off her suit, which parts of her body are dying to bust
out of.
Don: Heh.
Jason: WHOO HOO!
Gordon: The first finalist is....Kris Allen! Competing against Kris
is....Adam Lambert!
Don: No surprise that Adam is in.
Jason: Nope.
Gordon: No surprise on the elimination, either. Any thoughts?
Jason: Not at all. Hand the crown over to Adam. Seriously.
Don: At this point, I also think Adam will win. But we'll see what
happens next week.
Gordon: We'll see if Kris can carry the momentum. So for everyone,
this is Gordon saying spread the love and support your local singers!
