Because fandom is NOT a spectator sport...

Today is

May 29, 2006

Jason: True
Chico: Yeah
Don: Yep.
Jason: Someone has the stones to program that.
Gordon: You'd watch that, wouldn't you, Don?
Don: I'd check it out.
Jason: Chico would watch for the curling cuties.
Chico: That I would. What else would you watch? That's what we're here to find out as we play... PUSH OR FLUSH!
Gordon: Yay!
Jason: The Summer Season edition.
Chico: you know how we do. If you think it's good.. *PUSH* If you think it's wack... *FLUSH*.
Chico: We'll go through half of the list today, and half in two weeks when we return for season 12.
Jason: So The Summer Season (Part I)
Chico: Right.
Jason: Got it.
Gordon: Sounds groovy.
Jason: I have my plunger at the ready.
Chico: First on the list here... Something that already premiered...

So You Think You Can Dance.

Chico: Pushing or flushing version 2.0 of last year's sleeper?
Jason: I am going to give it a PUSH. People need their Idol fix. It feeds the need.
Gordon: Definite push. Hopefully, it will be a cleaner show.
Don: Push.
Chico: I'm going to push it as well. And so has America, apparently. Everyone pushes, everyone win.
Jason: Ratings have been well so far?
Chico: Very well.
Jason: Go Nigel.
Gordon: Next one?
Chico: Next up. This one's for Don...

Canadian Idol, season 4. People flushed Ryan.... or Ryan flushed himself, but pushed Kalan and Melissa. Who's next?

Jason: Idol is Idol. PUSH.
Gordon: Agree - and it's fun to see it in different countries. Push.
Chico: Unless its Australian Idol, which crashed after season 2.
Don: It's on a roll so far, and I have high hopes that we'll be seeing another great singer (or singers, as the case may be) this season. PUSH.
Chico: Another four-way push for our friends in the Great White North... *DoND small case* That same night...

Real World Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat.

Jason: You know, I think this has been on way too long. MILD FLUSH.
Don: Flush.
Chico: I think the franchise ran its course. I mean, how many more of these things can one network handle? FLUSH
Gordon: As long as the ratings warrant it - and there's no reason why it won't slow down. Push.
Chico: Well, Gordon likes it, but staidness pushes this one to a 3-1 Flush. Next...

May 30 brings us Last Comic Standing. Will a new host bring new life into this once lively franchise?

Jason: No. The smell still reeks from the scandal of the last one. FLUSH.
Don: Mild push. At least they're not doing what they did for Season 3, but I'm a bit iffy. About this one, that is.
Gordon: Paltry push. The concept works and it's on during the Summer, so it should get some ok ratings. NBC has put too much of themselves into this one to not think it wasn't going to be a hit
Chico: I'm going to second Gordon. I'll be watching this with a cautious eye. 3-1 Push with the option to turn on it after this week, then. Next...

Get your buzzers ready...Three words...Game Show Marathon

Jason: Trying not to be unbiased...but this is going to be HUGE. Major PUSH.
Don: I am really looking forward to this. BIG PUSH.
Gordon: No Tom Bergeron. Flush it.
Jason: WHAT??!!?
Gordon: JUST kidding. Push, of course. The sneak preview looks nothing less than phenomenal.
Chico: BIG ASS MARIO PUSH.
Don: I plan on taping the whole thing.
Chico: Ricki, don't let me down.
Jason: Please. Pretty please.
Chico: *DOND small cue*
Jason: Yay!
Chico: This one's for you, Gordon.

High Stakes Poker, season 2.

Gordon: Of course. Push.
Jason: I watched a few episodes and liked it. Another gambling hit for GSN. PUSH.
Don: Push.
Chico: BIG ASS MARIO PUSH. Four way push... Sound effect, please... *DOND small case* thank you. Another good card game...

World Series of Blackjack

Jason: Another game...another PUSH.
Chico: Push it again.
Don: Push, of course.
Chico: I'm a mad man when it comes to the 21.
Gordon: I like Blackjack -but not as much as you guys do. Mild push.
Chico: Four way push... Sound effect, please... *DOND small case* thank you. Next to last one, a new twist on an old favorite...

Que Dice La Gente. It's Feud.. pero en Español

Jason: Un Juego Bueno...un PUSH.
Gordon: Un Push
Don: How do you say push in Spanish?
Chico: ... I'm embarrassed. I'm supposed to know this.
Gordon: El Pusho?
Chico: .. I'll take it.
Don: Okay, El Pusho, then.
Chico: Marco Antonio Regil and his permagrin get el pusho. Sound effect, please... *DOND small case* thank you. Last one... quite appropriately, we're sending you to Hell.

Hell's Kitchen, season 2. Will this be any better than the first?

Jason: No...and this will be one of the big bombs of the season. FLUSH.
Gordon: I thought so...until I saw Men Vs. Women. Then I thought oh no, Donald retread all over again. Paltry push.
Don: I liked the first season, but with Fox, who knows what they have in store. I'll be hopeful, though, and give it a tentative push.
Chico: I think America's tired of Gordon Ramsay, and the mystique of the "restaurant" may have been compromised. Flush. We've got a split jury.
Gordon: Sequels on FOX have never done well if it's not Idol.
Jason: See: Joe Millionaire and "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancee"
Chico: or Dance. Although it's early, still. And that's where we leave it for now. The second part next time, but for now... Big Finish next!
Jason: Last one for Season 11

(Brought to you by Deeley's 11... coming to a theatre or drive in near you.)

Chico: It's the summer show, we have to have a summer movie!
Jason: Better than most of the stuff out there, I tell you.
Chico: X-Men was pretty good. Then again, I'm a geek, so...
Gordon: It's time to get to the Big Geeky Finish! DOND - Will anyone walk out of there with 7 figures?
Jason: I hope.
Chico: Me too.
Don: Could happen on the finale. I hope it does.
Chico: Big chance. Summer plans not involving GSC5... July 13-16?
Gordon: Just trying to find more things to Haterade on
Jason: School concerts of friends kids, July 4...the usual. And Superman Returns June 30. This is the Summer of the Hoff (David Hasselhoff) don't you know.
Gordon: SYTYCD2 - Will the talent be better or worse than #1?
Chico: Better.
Jason: Better.
Don: Better.
Gordon: Well, then...lol. What about the Talent on America's Got Talent?
Chico: Rejects of the better shows.
Jason: I think that could be fun too.
Chico: Armed Forces Lingo. You in?
Jason: !SALUTE!
Don: Sounds good.
Jason: And remember all the people around the world who have given their lives and are putting their lives on the line doing what they do. If you have a member of the family who served, call them and thank them. If they are serving, you know what to do.
Gordon: As we thank you all for protecting this country.
Jason: We think of you all the time, but this weekend especially.
Chico: Agreed...Anyone up for one last Wuthrich mail?
Jason: Why not?
Gordon: Sure
Chico: Here we go.

TO: WLTI
FROM: Jason Wuthrich

Of all of this season's Survivors, Idols, Racers, or other contestants, which one would you most like spend some quality time with? And keep your minds out of the gutter! :-D

Jason: Seriously, Taylor Hicks. He seems like a guy you can knock a beer with and hang out.
Chico: I'd like to chill with BJ & Tyler...They seem like cool cts.
Jason: And Cheryl Jackson from DonD. She would make me feel positive no matter what.
Gordon: Probably Jade from Top Model, so I can refuel with some fresh new Haterade for Season 12
Chico: You need a refill? Thought your supply was endless!
Gordon: It is, but like all drinks, I could always use some new flavors.
Jason: Well, when you see him win money at the Casinos during GSC5, you will see the nicer side of Gordon.
Chico: I've seen it... It's scary if I'm being honest. Any more mail?
Gordon: That's all I got
Chico: Then that's all we got. We're going to take a little breather, but our mailbox won't. It's at the usual spot, WLTI@gameshownewsnet.com. And it's always open.
Jason: Its been a great season guys, with Deal or No Deal, a Great AI5, and hanging with you guys.
Chico: A great Amazing Race, even if no one watched it.
Jason: Thank you for letting me be part of the nuthouse.
Chico: No prob. We'll be back sooner than you know.
Gordon: Thanks - we'll be back in 2 weeks to start up Season 12, and by that time, all of the games will be in gear.
Jason: And the push for GSC5 will be on in full swing.
Chico: Big thanks to Tom Gauer and Andy Pei. More big thanks to Don Harpwood and Jason Block. I'm Chico. He's Gordon. For everyone at GSNN, have a great weekend, and as always.... GAME OVER and SPREAD THE LOVE :)
Don: Yeah!
Gordon: Drive safely - we want you around so you cxan hear us rant for season 12
