Episode 17.18
May 5
Jason: I sense a theme.
Chico: Themes are good
Gordon: And so is predictions. It's time for Should and Will. You say what
should happen...and what will happen.
Chico: I got it...Starting with an easy one.
Who should/will win the Emmys for best game show and best game show host?
Jason: Should win and will win: Trebek and Jeopardy. They had the most
consistent year overall.
Rob: Should for host/Show: Ben Bailey and Cash Cab, they deserve it. Would, it's
going to be the granddaddy of quizzers, Alex Trebek and Jeopardy.
Gordon: Should: Jeopardy / Alex Trebek. Will: Jeopardy / Alex Trebek. It's
Alex's time to win.
Don: Gotta go with Alex and Jeopardy. He and the show have been as good as ever.
Chico: Should: Jeopardy and Ben Bailey. Will: Jeopardy! and Alex Trebek.
Gordon: I seriously don't think that Bailey has had a better year than Trebek.
Chico: After last year, I'm convinced that anything can happen, because i was
pulling for Alex, and guess who won it.
Gordon: I thought it was a given that Bob, on his last year out, was taking it.
Chico: But did he deserve it? For that year's body of work?
Jason: No he didn't. Honestly.
Chico: This being his last, kinda gave some artificiality to it.
Rob: No, he just went through the motions, like he did for the 3 years prior.
Jason: It was a thanks for the memories award...to be honest.
Gordon: Absolutely not - but the best man doesn't always win. And 50 years on TV
should mean something.
Chico: We're not discounting that by any means, but come on. It's supposed to go
to the best of the year.
Jason: Tell that to any awards voters.
Chico: Yep.
Jason: Especially the Emmys and Oscars.
Gordon: Tell that to the American Idol voters who like Sanjaya. Next one...
We've had a few very close calls on both Don't Forget the Lyrics and Are you
Smarter than a 5th grader. Who will win the million dollar grand prize first?
Rob: Should, Lyrics. Will, Lyrics.
Jason: Should - 5th grader - Will - Neither. No one will have the guts to go for
it.
Chico: Should: 5th Grader. Will: Lyrics. It's a matter of courage, and no one
wants to deliver.
Gordon: Should: 5th grader. The questions are almost too easy. Will: Lyrics.
You'll get a Karaoke maniac eventually that will play the game completely.
Don: Should: 5th Grader (someone has to prove that they're smart and gutsy
enough sooner or later). Will: Lyrics.
Chico: Come on, people. Show your ass... step on my cubes. Dont' be afirad.. to
be a jerk!
Gordon: Next one?
Chico: Next...
Deal or No Deal appears to be heading into free fall. With its upcoming
syndicated version on the way, should it still be on in primetime for season
five? Will it?
Jason: Should and Will Yes. It is one of the top performers on NBC. This is a
blip.
Rob: Should it, yes, but for only once a week. Will it, yeah at 2 nights a week,
and more for when Idol gets here.
Gordon: Will: Yes. NBC really has no other option. Should: yes. The ratings
warrant it.
Chico: So this is more of a hiccup than anything else.
Don: Should: Yeah, and I agree on maybe reducing it to once a week. Will:
Definitely.
Chico: Okay. Next?
Gordon: Next one...
What's more likely to happen - a Deal or No Deal Million Dollar winner or
someone getting through the Viking Obstacle Course?
Chico: Should: Deal. Will: Viking.
Jason: Should and Will - Viking. No one will have the guts to hold on to the
Million Dollar Case
Chico: Obstacle courses are like "Like it's hard?"
Rob: Should and will : Viking. as stated prior, nobody has the bollocks to stick
with the million dollar case.
Don: Should: DoND Million Dollar winner. Will: Someone getting through the
Viking Obstacle Course
Gordon: Should - Deal or no Deal winner. Will - Viking, because DOND players are
chickens.
Chico: Duh. Next up...
Which will be the killer app that saves this summer from being Summer of Suck
III
Jason: Anything on the board?
Chico: Anything on the board.
Don: Should and Will: I'm thinking AGT3. It sounds like it is really shaping up
to be a big season.
Rob: Should: American Gladiators, Will: AGT 3
Jason: Should: AGT3 Will: The Next Food Network Star 4. The ratings will be even
bigger than before.
Gordon: Should: America's Got Talent 3. You got a lot of hot stuff on board.
Will: The Olympics. Believe it or not, I think that will get people back to
watching their TV sets - if just because the gas prices will be too high for
most Americans to do anything else.
Jason: And I predict riots in Beijing. The Olympics will be shorter than people
think.
Chico: Wow...
Rob: Yes, the IOC extended the Olive Branch, but Beijing is messing it all up.
Gordon: Riots in Beijing still translates into must see TV - albeit the wrong
reasons, but still...
Chico: And finally...
When are they going to stick a Celebrity in the chair in The Moment of Truth?
Rob: Should: Yes.
Chico: Should: next chance they get. Will: ... no.
Jason: Should - Next Season. Will - Next Season.
Rob: Will: when they pay them enough money.
Jason: And the celebrity - O.J. Simpson.
Rob: I'll take Roger Clemens.
Don: Should: Maybe sometime next season or the season after that. Will: The
first chance they find a celebrity who is willing to go through with it.
Chico: I'll take'em both. I'm hard core.
Gordon: Should: Next season, Will: Next season - during November Sweeps. And
that's it. We'll wrap this one up after the break.
(Brought to you by Dance of Love. Now that Shannon Elizabeth is out of the
competition, and now that she insists that she's single...well what are you
doing reading this column? Go bed her!)
Chico: HA!
Don: LOL
Rob: Phil Laak has a Hollywood Girlfriend, maybe Shannon Elizabeth may be
Antonio Esfandiari's answer.
Chico: Sounds like an ep of "I Bet You"
Rob: Man, I love that show. Just started Season 2.
Jason: Poker Hoes.
Chico: No more hoes, but a lot of shows in the Big Finish. Survivor... who wins?
Jason: I still say Cirie.
Rob: Erik Wins.
Chico: Answer's simple... It's Parvati. She has the most inroads.
Gordon: I think Parvati has the easiest road - but I think that if Amanda gets
there, she wins. And she'll get there, so she'll win.
Rob: I'm sticking to my guns.
Chico: You do that.
Gordon: Idol - who loses?
Chico: Let's see. Syesha was in the bottom two last week.
Rob: Syesha is gone.
Chico: Syesha was in the bottom two a couple of weeks ago. Tetsujin Sakai once
said that what happens twice will happen three times.
Jason: David Archuleta goes home and lots of teen girls cry in their High School
Musical Sheets.
Chico: And Gordon says that if it happens three times... it's over. Therefore...
Syesha.
Don: It does look like Syesha will need a lot of help this week...
Gordon: Im going to say Syesha will be leaving.
Chico: How about Dancing? Still going with Marissa?
Rob: Bill Parcells will have his revenge and Jason Taylor will go.
Jason: Cristian De La Fuente...for medical reason.
Gordon: Ill agree with Christian - but Marissa if he doesn't.
Chico: Any big money being given away this week?
Rob: $100,000+ on Deal.
Gordon: I would think so. I'll say we see 6 digits awarded somewhere this week.
Jason: I am going to guess a big bonus winner on Wheel.
Gordon: Do we have any big emails?
Chico: I don't. You?
Gordon: Nope - but what do they do if they want to send us some?
Chico: They plop us some digital love at wlti@gameshownewsnet.com
Jason: or http://www.myspace.com/wltiongsnn
Chico: Seriously. It's fun;
Rob: More fun than an episode of Farmer Wants a Wife.
Jason: Hey ANYTHING is better than that.
Chico: Yep
Gordon: And with that, we end the show. Special thanks to Jason, Don and Robert
for hanging out with hus this week.
Jason: Always a pleasure and thanks.
Don: Always nice.
Rob: A pleasure, and fun.
Chico: We look forward to our next challenge. Until then. I'm Chico. He's
Gordon. The show is WLTI. and until next week... game over... and spread the
love
