Shows Round of 8 Results Eight singers have one dream: to be known as "The Voice". Some gave it their all and emerged as favorites. Some thought they could get away with it all and fell flat. But it's all about votes, and for two of them, they will not be enough. Will Team Shakira and Team Usher survive the hour? Eight become six, and Sheryl Crow takes the stage.... right now.
As a reminder, every iTunes download also counts as a vote. If your single is on the iTunes top 10 by the end of the voting window, your votes will be multiplied by 10. This could be the boost that some singers need. All of the singers charted this week, so that's a lot of votes. No one made the top 10 however. We start with Team Blake dueting with SHERYL CROW on her new single "Easy". Let's take a moment for Oklahoma real quick. Blake Shelton has been running around like a chicken with his head cut off helping to put together "Healing the Heartland", a relief special to air on NBC at 9p ET. Among others, Reba, Rascal Flatts, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, and Usher are slated to appear. Also, Starbucks, the beverage of choice on "The Voice", is donating $250,000 to the effort. Next up, Judith Hill & Michelle Chamuel team up to perform "Sweet Nothing" by Calvin Harris featuring Florence Welch. On the back of that is... the first elimination... SAFE: With that, Team Usher is locked into the top 6. Next up, Sasha Allen of Team Shakira gets by with a little help from the Swon Brothers of Team Blake for "Don't You Wanna Stay" by Jason Aldean featuring Kelly Clarkson. I know someone wants to stay... SAFE: As far as iTunes are concerned, Danielle & Michelle are 1-2. Hey, you've been good "Voice" fans, so here's a sneak preview of next week's season premiere of "America's Got Talent". Complete with Nick Cannon channeling his inner James Brown. Next up, Danielle Bradbery and Sarah Simmons team up on "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. You don't have to wait that long to hear who's... SAFE: And Shakira... is shouting. Yeah, she's got every right. Team Shakira is through! Of course, that means that one of the veteran coaches is going to lose a member. Maybe both of them. Next up, Reba & Linda Davis' "Does He Love You" courtesy Team Adam's Amber Carrington and Team Blake's Holly Tucker. Does America love either of them? SAFE: We're running out of time, so let's get to who else is saved... SAFE: Team Blake is moving on. Team ADAM is down to ONE, as Judith Hill, long seen as a favorite, takes a powder and takes Sarah Simmons down with her. So all four country singers remain... The only males in the contest will sing again... and a singer has channeled a fan following into a leading position. Ladies and gentlemen, this competition is WIDE OPEN.
