As a reminder, a full team has 12. Shakira is the closest with nine. Usher & Adam have eight. Blake has seven.

Day 5 at Universal Studios commences with Jeff Lewis (28, Dallas), who books tee times in Los Feliz, CA. He started as a dancer, but parlayed that into singing. He signed wtih Interscope before being dropped before he even really hit. Hey, such is life in the business. He'll try to get back into it with "U Got It Bad" by Usher. At the end of the song, Usher taps in... and Blake & Shakira make it a fight. Jeff's road back to the top begins now... but with whom? He goes... with the man he just sung.

Shawna P (45, Orange Beach, AL) has a unique background. She was part of the Muzik Mafia, who gave birth to greats like Gretchen Wilson and Big & Rich. She also performed with Kid Rock and George Clinton. The family sort of disintegrated before Shawna could get HER name out there. She's going to rock it up a bit with "She Talks to Angels" by the Black Crowes. Shakira talks back with her button. Adam talks to HER. Both coaches were raised in rock. What will Shawna do? She picks... SHAKIRA!

Caroline Glaser (18, St. Louis) got her first guitar when she was in high school. Since then, it's been coffeehouses and open mics. She's hoping a trip to "The Voice" will be just the jolt this young songwriter from the University of Kansas needs. She sings "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John. Blake thinks he has her... then Shakira jumps in. Caroline has a very distinct tone... and it looks like Blake's gonna get his girl.

Cameron (24, Wayland, IA) can sing, dance, act, write, and produce... and he can also treat your teenagers, telling them to shoot for your dreams. Today, he'll be singing "As Long As You Love Me" by the Biebs. He's got moves... but he doesn't have the voice to survive in this competition, at least in my opinion. .... and he's done before he even begins. Why do you insist on dancing on "The Voice"? This is one of those cases where "the title writes the instruction book".

Michael Austin (43, Norco, CA), AKA Big Country, is a deputy sheriff who likes to ride his horse to the saloon. He's survived a fall through a second-story window. This will be a cakewalk. He sings "Somebody Like You" by a judge from another talent series. Adam and Shakira love somebody like him, but his family and friends are pushing for Blake... He... doesn't. Michael is also eclectic in his tastes, but today, he's a fan of ADAM.

Halfway through the show, and each coach has landed one.

Sasha Allen (30, New York City) juggles family life with dreams of singing. She put her career on hold to raise a family, but it's time to get back and do some performing up on front instead of being just a background singer and/or pianist. She's hoping they're watching from home as she takes the stage with.... and she's not a country singer, mind you... The Dixie Chicks' "Not Ready to Make Nice". Adam's the first... The rest of the coaches follow suit. All of them want to work with her, but who does she want to work with? She picks... ADAM!

Matt Cermanski (19, Phoenixville, PA) is a big musician from a small-town. His uncle was the keyboardist for the Trammps. He himself got to play for the band, but he wants to play on his own. He's going to take a REALLY BIG RISK with "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry. Big risk. NO LOVE.

Jamila Thompson joins Usher. Amy Whitcomb joins Adam. Justin Rivers and Michelle Raitzin join Blake. Adam is now one vocalist from a full team. Will that one be Mary Miranda (17, Havana, Cuba)? She moved to New Mexico four years ago. The only way she could escape (and learn English as well) was with music. She has a very special relationship with her father, and she wears his heart around her neck. Will she do him proud with Selena's "Como La Flor"? Love is indeed like a flower. You bet your sweet bottom Shakira wants her. But Blake and Usher are not giving up without a fight. ... Yeah they are. Shakira gets it.

So Adam and Shakira have one spot remaining. To those two, I say, consider your next action wisely.

Drink Starbucks.

Grace Askew (26, Memphis) is "bluntry", a mix of blues & country. She turned to this hybrid as a means of getting out of Memphis. She's toured in 40 states. She says she needs a little help to get her career back on track. Will she do it with Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" ? Blake wants to do some walking. Shakira wants in, too, for the full set. She... will have to wait. BLAKE is at 11.

Jane Smith (18, Cincinnati) remembers singing about bugs and spiders at the age of 3. She's inspired by her father, who succumbed to cancer while her mother was also going through her battle. Luckily her bout with stage 2 breast cancer was relatively-short-lived. She's in remission now. She dedicates her performance of "You've Got the Love" by Florence + the Machine to both parents. She's got the ingredients, but she's not there yet, as no chairs turn around. She wasn't the only one to bow out of the stage...

Last up on the stage, it's Ryan Innes (31, Provo, UT), who did everything you possibly could with music without a major deal. Instead, he was pressured to be a doctor. He's getting through a bitter breakup and decide to take it out on his music. He found a voice because of that. But can he find one on John Mayer's "Gravity"? Adam hits it on go. Blake takes it on the second bar. And here comes the four-chair turn we were promised. At the end of the day, he goes with... USHER!

So at the end of the night...
