As a reminder, the coach will set the sudden death showdowns sight unseen. The singers will be in control of their own fate, because they will be in control of their own song choice. The rule is simple: sing each song as if it were your last.

First up...

#TEAMADAM: Amber Carrington vs. Midas Whale

Amber will open up play with "I'm With You" by Avril Lavigne, a countrified version of it. Folk-pop duo Midas Whale will counter with "Higher Ground" by Stevie Wonder. That's a risky song choice.

Blake says Midas Whale has some moves, and he likes Amber as much as he can't stand Adam. He gives it to AMBER. Usher says the duo gave the song a "Midas" touch. Shakira thought Midas Whale was fun, but Amber won her vote.

ADAM CHOOSES: Amber (@ambercarrington). One part of a 16-part Playoff picture is set.

#TEAMSHAKIRA: Garrett Gardner vs. Tawnya Reynolds

Garrett is making the most of his return trip with "Too Chose" by Alex Clare. Tawnya, the Nashville veteran, will counter with "Hell on Heels" by the Pistol Annies. Obvious play on Blake's wife is obvious.

Coach Shakira wants to disappear-a. Adam says that Garrett has made strides. Blake thought the song choice was excellent, but she yodeled too much. Usher actually liked the yodel.

SHAKIRA CHOOSES: Garrett (@GarrettGardner2)

#TEAMADAM: Amy Whitcomb vs. Caroline Glaser

Amy is a powerful big singer and an a cappella veteran. This is actually going to be the first full performance from her, and it'll be the character-driven "House of the Rising Sun" by Muse. Caroline, the indie rock chick with a smooth groove, will try to earn her spot on Adam's squad in earnest with "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men.

As was often said about another show, regarding the last note of Amy's piece.... "That's the note."

Blake respects Amy for taking a chance with a soft song and a big note to end, but that's all that was big about it, wasn't it? Caroline was consistent from start to finish. He gives it to Caroline. Usher says that Amy won the round.

ADAM CHOOSES: Caroline (@CarolineGlaser)

#TEAMSHAKIRA: Kris Thomas vs. Mary Miranda

Who is the better connector of song and audience. Is it the falsetto-strong R&B singer or the Latina from Cuba with the saucy range? Kris sings "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong; Mary sings "Every Breath You Take" by The Police, a song that taught her English. In fact, this is the first song she will sing in English for the show.

Adam says that Kris' tone is getting more unique, while Mary's nerves went away with the bridge. He would pick Mary. Blake says Mary has a creative mind, and the same can be said of Kris. Usher agrees with the room.

SHAKIRA CHOOSES: Kris (@KrisThomasMusik)

#TEAMADAM: Judith Hill vs. Orlando Dixon

Battle of the R&B singers. Judith sang background for Michael Jackson. Orlando graduated from THE Berklee College of Music. Judith gets "Always On My Mind" by Willie Nelson. "I quit." Okay, Adam. Orlando, fresh off of a steal, will sing "All My Life" by K-Ci & JoJo.

Blake thought Judith was on point. Usher agrees. Shakira didn't think Orlando gave his best performance. It was a little too strong for a tender love song.

ADAM CHOOSES: Judith (@Judith_Hill)

#TEAMSHAKIRA: Karina Iglesias vs. Monique Abbadie

The battle of the powerhouse Latinas, as we have rocker Karina vs. Latin popper Monique. Karina's "Are You Gonna Go My Way" (by Lenny Kravitz) is going up against Monique's "The Power of Love" (by Celine Dion).

Adam says Karina needed a bigger song, but she was his favorite. Blake thought it was one-dimensional, giving it to Monique. Usher thought Karina needed a more energetic record, but was the more entertaining of the two.

SHAKIRA CHOOSES: Karina (@KarinaIglesias_)

Last two pairings.

#TEAMADAM: Sarah Simmons vs. Warren Stone

They share an ability to connect, but who has the most potential, the country firefighter or the daddy's girl musician? Warren will try "(I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight" by Cutting Crew, doing it up a little bit different. Sarah, "Wild Horses" by the Rolling Stones.

Blake on Warren: "That wasn't a country song! What's up with that?" He liked Warren, but he gave it to Sarah. Usher agrees. Shakira thought Warren shone before making it a three-coach sweep.

ADAM CHOOSES: Sarah (@SarahSimMusic). Adam is going with an all-ladies team of four.

#TEAMSHAKIRA: Shawna P vs. Sasha Allen

We have the member of the Musik Mafia out of Nashville vs. the mother-of-two. Who will take the bigger risk? Sasha picks "At Last" by Ella Fitzgerald, while Shawna closes the show with "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Paul McCartney.

Adam thought Sasha was incredible, while Shawna had the grit to take on that song. He picks his former teammate. Blake calls this the best knockout, saying Sasha is a frontrunner. Usher thought Shawna could've stuck with who she was as a performer, and is happy to see Sasha continue to grow.

SHAKIRA CHOOSES: Sasha (@sashaallenmusic). And with that, Shakira's team is locked.

And with that, the final teams are set. So let it be written... So let it be done.
