Mother's Day
Face-Off Tonight, it's the mother of all showdowns, as two mother-daughter teams return to the 60 Second Circle for a little million dollar redemption. But only one will get a second chance at the cash. On one side, you have LYNN & BETHANY GERBER (Winfield, KS), who couldn't use their noodle. On the other side, DONNA SPEAKMAN & HEIDI BILLINGTON (Las Vegas) have a second chance after they blow a shot with a ping pong ball. Faceoff rules apply, it's best-of-seven to $50,000. H2H LEVEL 1: TEMPER TANTRUM: Using pedometers attached to both feet, the contestants must count out as many clicks as possible within 60 seconds. Both daughters will face off on this one. WINNER... not even close, BETHANY! (Lynn & Bethany lead, 1-0) H2H LEVEL 2: MOVIN' ON UP: The contestants are given two stacks of 49 blue cups and one red one. Using alternating hands, they must move the red cup from the bottom to the top and back to the base by taking blue cups from the top and moving them to the bottom. This time, it's the mothers' turn. WINNER... LYNN! (Lynn & Bethany lead, 2-0) H2H LEVEL 3: A BIT DICEY:
One player must balance six dice on a popsicle stick using only their mouths.
The stack must be held for a three-count. H2H LEVEL 4: FACE THE COOKIE: The contestant must move a sandwich cookie from their foreheads to their mouth using only her facial muscles. The daughters face off, with serious implications for Heidi. WINNER... HEIDI! (Lynn & Bethany lead, 3-1) H2H LEVEL 5: SUCK IT UP: Using only a drinking straw, the contestants must suck up chocolate candies and transport them atop positioned drinking straws. This must be repeated three times. Once again, it's daughter time. WINNER... HEIDI! (Lynn & Bethany lead, 3-2). H2H LEVEL 6: NOODLING AROUND: Using only one uncooked strand of spaghetti in their mouth, a contestant must pick up SIX pieces of penne pasta from the table. Any use of hands, or if you drop or break your pasta, is a foul, resulting in a point for the other team. Winner... BETHANY! (Lynn & Bethany win, 4-2). They bank $50,000, earn three lives, and head into... LEVEL 6: MEGA BUBBLE: Using only the air in their lungs, a contestant must blow a soap bubble, then guide it through an awaiting hoop downstage. As always... "Failure to complete this task in 60 seconds may result in ELIMINATION." First attempt (Lynn)... COMPLETE! (:38, $75,000) LEVEL 7: HIGH ROLLER: Using a cup, six-sided dice, and the centrifugal force of one hand, the contestant must swirl dice into stacks of three, four, and five. First attempt (Bethany)... FAIL (TIME OUT, TWO lives remaining) Second attempt (Bethany)... FAIL (TIME OUT, ONE life remaining) Final attempt (Bethany) .... COMPLETE! (:02, $125,000) Now will they take the money... or the minute? They take... the CASH. So Bethany & Lynn get $125,000! Will another team find redemption, or are we going with something different?
