A Love Connection?
January 19

Tonight, two of the best competitors on the show have gone into the circle for a shot at a million...

DERALD MILLER (26, Denver) is teamed with MICHELLE HAUGH (28, Los Gatos, CA), having met at the Minute to Win It Training Facility. Will they have what it takes to go all the way?

LEVEL 1: STICKY BALLS: The contestant must roll five marbles down the stage to a pad of double-sided tape. Only stuck balls will count.

And as always... "Failure to complete this task in 60 seconds may result in ELIMINATION."

First attempt (Michelle): COMPLETE (:33, $1000)

LEVEL 2: SPIN DOCTOR: One of the contestants must spin a quarter across a center line of a table. The other must stop it on its edge with one finger.

First attempt: COMPLETE (:23, $2500)

LEVEL 3: TWEEZE ME: Using a pair of tweezers, the contestant must maneuver a small mint through a tennis racket square and into a cup without knocking the racket - or the tennis ball on top of it - down. This must be repeated once in five attempts.

First attempt (Michelle): COMPLETE (:18, $5000)

LEVEL 4: OFFICE DOMINOES: Using 11 reams of copier paper each, the contestants must create a domino chain that ends with the last ream hitting a bell.

First attempt: COMPLETE (:06, $10,000)

LEVEL 5: TRIPLE PONG PLOP: Both contestants must bounce ping pong balls off of the surface of three 11-inch dinner plates and land a total of four in a fishbowl on the other side.

First attempt... COMPLETE (:45, $50,000)

LEVEL 6: POP TOP:. One contestant must flick a bottle cap from the edge of a round table to a center glass using only their thumb.

First attempt (Derald): COMPLETE on the first flick (:58, $75,000). This is a new MTWI record!

LEVEL 7: BREAKFAST SCRAMBLE. The contestants must reassemble a cereal box cut into 16 squares.

First attempt: COMPLETE (:01, $125,000)

LEVEL 8: OH NUTS! Using eight nuts connected to eight bolts and lined on a steel ruler, the contestant must construct an eight-story tower. This must be held for a three-count..

First attempt (Derald): FAIL (TIME OUT, TWO lives remaining).

Second attempt (Derald): FAIL (KNOCK OUT, ONE life remaining).

Final attempt (Michelle): FAIL (KNOCK OUT, GAME OVER). But they do take home $50,000.

Next time, MORE stupid human tricks for fun and profit.
