Law & Order
April 20
In the television primetime system, the
people are entertained by two separate, yet equally important groups:
actors who perform scripted dialogue in a scenario created by the show's
writers and producers... and real people competing in unscripted games
of skill and chance. This is the latter.
The first team today: TRACY MULASKI
(Gilbert), a teacher and single mom who's hoping to provide a college
education for her kids, and Orange County sheriff KEVIN AHSMUHS
(Placentia, CA), who's looking to stay at home with his kids.
LEVEL 1: TILT-A-CUP:
One contestant must bounce a ping pong ball off the ground, while the other
catches it in a stack of seven plastic cups they are holding. The player must
then transfer the top cup to the bottom of the stack and then repeat the process
until all seven cups have a ping pong ball in them.
As always, "failure to complete this task in 60 seconds may result in
ELIMINATION."
First attempt: COMPLETE! (:28, $1000)
LEVEL 2: DISCO DROP:
One contestant must drop a CD so that its enter hole envelops a pencil.
First attempt (Kevin): COMPLETE! (:46, $2500)
LEVEL 3: MARBLES GRANDE:
One contestant must toss white balls from five feet into a circle to knock four
red ones out.
First attempt (Tracy): COMPLETE! (:52, $5000)
LEVEL 4: THE
NUTSTACKER: A nut is useless without a
bolt. A chopstick is useless without another. Using only a chopstick, the
contestants must stack five nuts each vertically on a table to create a 10-story
stack.
First attempt: FAIL (TIME OUT, TWO lives
remaining)
Second attempt: FAIL (KNOCK OUT at :14, ONE life
remaining)
Final attempt: ... COMPLETE! (:03, $10,000)
LEVEL 5: OFFICE
TENNIS: The team must use clipboards to
rally a crumpled piece of paper into a wastebasket. A carry or double-hit will
mean a loss of life.
Only attempt: COMPLETE! (:37, $50,000).
LEVEL 6: MEGA BUBBLE:
Using only the air in their lungs, a contestant must blow a soap bubble, then
guide it through an awaiting hoop downstage.
Only attempt (Tracy)... COMPLETE! (:12, $75,000)
LEVEL 7: WHAT A RACQUET:
The contestant must guide a gumball to the center square of a tennis racquet
using only their hips.
Only attempt (Kevin)... COMPLETE! (:26, $125,000)
Now will they take the money... or the minute?
They take... the CASH. So Tracy & Kevin will split $125,000! And we'll split
until next time!
