Beauty and the Geek
March 30

One top shelf bartender. One computer nerd. No Mike Richards in sight, but we have a beauty and a geek in play for the million.

The beauty: bartender SHANNON HOUSER (Bend, OR). The geek: visual effects artist RUSSELL LLOYD (Allen, TX)

LEVEL 1: TILT-A-CUP: One contestant must bounce a ping pong ball off the ground, while the other catches it in a stack of seven plastic cups they are holding. The player must then transfer the top cup to the bottom of the stack and then repeat the process until all seven cups have a ping pong ball in them.

As always, "failure to complete this task in 60 seconds may result in ELIMINATION."

First attempt: COMPLETE! (:22, $1000)

LEVEL 2: MOVIN' ON UP: The contestants are given two stacks of 39 blue cups and one red one. Using alternating hands, they must move the red cup from the bottom to the top and back to the base by taking blue cups from the top and moving them to the bottom.

First attempt: FAIL (TIME OUT, two lives remaining)

Second attempt: COMPLETE! (:11, $2500).

LEVEL 3: PLAY IT BY EAR: Eight closed soda cans contain pennies, starting with five and going up in five penny increments to 40 pennies. Only being able to shake the cans, the contestants must line up the cans in decreasing order (40 on the left, five on the right).

First attempt... COMPLETE (:00, $5000)

LEVEL 4: SUCK IT UP: Using only a drinking straw, the contestants must suck up chocolate candies and transport them atop positioned drinking straws. This must be repeated four times.

First attempt... COMPLETE! (:26, $10,000)

LEVEL 5: GO THE DISTANCE: Three pedestals are positioned five, six, and seven inches from the start. On top of each is a shot glass. Using only a tape measure, a contestant must place a ping-pong ball into each shot glass.

First attempt (Shannon)...  FAIL (TIME OUT, one life remaining)

Final attempt (Russell).... FAIL (TIME OUT, GAME OVER). But the team splits $1000.

Next up on the block, MICHAEL & RICHELLE MOH from St. Paul, MN, a married couple who met in martial arts school. If Mike looks familiar, he was a featured player on "Kamen Rider Dragon Knight". They want to start a home and a family with the prize money.

LEVEL 1: ROLL WITH IT: Using a continuous windmill motion, a player must unroll two rolls of toilet paper onto their arms.

First attempt (Mike)... COMPLETE (:23, $1000)

LEVEL 2: BALL CAP: A bottle cap is placed upside down on the mouth of a soda bottle. The contestants must drop a golf ball onto a glass bottle so that the ball both displaces the bottle cap and lands on the mouth of the bottle.

First attempt (Richelle).... COMPLETE! (:34, $2500)

LEVEL 3: OCTOPUS: Around the 60 Second Circle are 12 inverted water bottles with red and yellow ribbons under the neck. You will have 12 tries to pull SIX ribbons without knocking the bottles over.

First attempt (Mike).... COMPLETE! (:35, $5000)

And we're out of minutes for these two. They'll continue their run at the million NEXT WEEK!
