August 10

Twelve families, mothers and sons, fathers and daughters, brothers and sisters... One family will emerge champion. All of them will have to go through hell to get to it.

THE WIPEOUT QUALIFIER

Tonight, the Qualifier consists of...

- The Pitchfork Tumbler... They're pitchforks... and they tumble.
- The Sucker Punch: one wall, multiple punching gloves, a world of hurt.
- The Big Balls: Launching Motivator is back in full force.
- The Trampoline Sweeper: tramps.... Sweepers. Two great tastes that taste great together.
- The Fling Set: Watch the arms as you make your way to the exit.

ADVANCING TO ROUND 2
Dannie & Monica Colon
Kainoa & Juliann Kahai
Randall & Denise Betters
Tom & Jamie Cardiff
Brian & Diane Hoh

THE OVERDRIVE

It's a giant steering wheel with sweepers and windshield wipers. Contestants start on the green pad, maneuvering through the sweepers onto the red pad, then landing on the red platform via one of three obstacles. If they get knocked off, they go to the start and try again. The first three families will move on.

WIPEOUT BRUISEBALL

Now, there are four bases. We start at the Dizzy Dummy, then round to the Mound while avoiding the business end of the bat. Next, down the Bouncing Baseline to second base. Turntables to third, then a jump into the tank to go all the way. The first two families to round the bases are Zone-bound.

THE WIPEOUT ZONE

Rebuilt from the ground up is the world's most dangerous obstacle course... the Wipeout Zone! Tonight...

- The Catapult
- The Spin Cycle: A vertical foam filled drum that they'll have to navigate to get to...
- The Triple Threat: Two big sweepers... then one small one... lather, rinse, repeat.
- The Rib Rage: run as far as you can as fast as you can to get to ...
- The Gauntlet: spiked whackers and arms & dangerous separate one person from $50,000. Fastest wins.

Since this is a family show... in more than one sense, the best combined time will win $50,000.

First up, Board Gamer Tom Cardiff. He sets the pace at 4:45. A huge advantage for his mom.

First, though, is "Cop and Attitude" daughter Marie Ramirez. She clocks in at... 20:34.

Now it's mom versus dad. All Jamie has to do is complete the Wipeout Zone in about 15 minutes, and the money is hers... and her son's. she does it in... 13:58! TOM & JAMIE CARDIFF SHUT OUT THE COP FOR THE WIN!

Twenty-four more players try not to get chopped and screwed by the courses next time. Until then, goodnight... and Big Balls.
