Episode
3.7 - The Henson Experiment
July 8
John Henson is already
proving himself to be not only a wry funny man, but an
adept game show host. But I bet you didn't know that he
was also a gamesman of the highest caliber. To prove it,
he created an obstacle to be used in tonight's
Qualifier. You think you have what it takes to take
on... the Tramp-o-Mean?
THE WIPEOUT QUALIFIER
Tonight, the Qualifier consists of...
- The Tramp-o-Mean: created by Skunkboy
himself, it's basically a giant gurney.
- The Sucker Punch: one wall, multiple punching gloves, a world of hurt.
- The Hydraulic Big Balls: Swinging Motivator is back in full force.
- The Shake-o-Lator: A crazy-moving platform with balls and ... more
balls.
- The Shape-Shifter: trampoline yourself through one of the three holes
in the wheel spinnie of doom!
First is Nicolas Dio IV, who has three
brothers with the same name. His nickname: Nico. His brother's nickname:
Nico. We get to see the first of the Tramp-O-Mean... and it isn't as big
as Skunkboy makes it out to be. The Shape-Shifter makes up for it with
Nico timing at 4:08.
Jennifer Grinde is next. She lands
buttcrack first into the muddy water in the Sucker Punch. Vincent
Rappeleya delivers for... well, we can't say, but we can give him "big
ups". Mark Halliday is an airline pilot. He wants a monkey. He takes a
hit to his monkey on the Big Balls. David Harris is an aspiring
accountant who's waiting for the right break. He gets deducted from the
Shake-o-Lator. Time: 2:55... and he loves Jill.
Chandra Pugh is next. She's slightly
psychic. She survives the Tramp-O-Lame... but she gets knocked by the
Sucker Punch, the Motivator, and the Shake-o-Lator. Betcha she didn't
see that one coming. She clocks in at 6:02. Slightly.
Rick Raddatz is an internet millionaire.
His money gets dirty quickly. Auto mechanic Daryl McCloud wants to
rebuild his Chevy Chevelle... and he nails the Shake-o-Lator... Same
can't be said for the Shape-Shifter.
Jessica was born a Funke, then married a
Ho. Now she's a Funke-Ho. This Funke-Ho gets shaken on the Shake-o-Lator.
Scott Torgan from Boston can do impressions. Now comes his impersonation
of a pretzel! Next is 18-year-pro tennis pro Paige Roddy. Final score...
Game, Qualifier. She clocks in at 3:49, enough to move on to the next
stage.

THE DOUBLE CROSS
On a ten-foot high platform, the players
must negotiate their way through a platform cross while avoiding the
Sweeper arms. There are three green planks to enter, one red one to
exit. The first six players will move on.
This week, it's raining...
First up, three... four... five people
on, three... four... five people off. Daryl delivers himself into round
3... and loses a shoe. David is now free to account for his chickens.
They have hatched. Rick is #3... Scott throws himself on the platform...
and the Unstable Table throws him off. Daryl gets the fourth spot.
Number five... Scott! Still an all boys club. Will we have a lady go on
as well? YES! It's Paige!

SLEEPYTIME SPINNER
Contestants will have to stay on the
Spinner for as long as possible, all the while having to jump over a
Sheep-filled Sweeper bar. Go under it.. .they're out. There are four heats in total,
and the winner of each goes on to the Wipeout Zone. Also, there's $1000
hanging to the side if someone dares to grab the Brass Ring.
And we have party crashers aching for a
pillow fight.
Scott grabs a hold of the Brass Ring for
$1000! He also gets the first spot in the Wipeout Zone. Joining him...

THE WIPEOUT ZONE
Rebuilt from the ground up is the world's
most dangerous obstacle course... the Wipeout Zone! Tonight... it's
covered in foam.
- The Dreadmill Launch
- The Gut Buster: A half-dozen of hydraulic blocks.
- The Sinistairs: three sweepers as you climb a spinning spiral
staircase
- The Gauntlet: this week, it's the Crankshaft, the Blades of Fury, and
the Beater-Totter.
First up is aspiring accountant David
Harris. Flat entry into the Zone. He learns how slippery that foam is.
He's third-time lucky. He is tired, though, at the 7-minute mark. After
a rough start, he's picking up the pace... but the Beater-Totter beats
him crazy. He clocks in at... 13:26.
Next up, Vincent Rappleyea. He tried to
hang onto the Gut Busters... Couldn't do it the first time. Has a good
time on the second. He's down to the Gauntlet... But Vincent tries to
make a run for it and misses. Twice. Wreckless abandon stopped cold. And
no delivery on this Thursday.
Scott already has $1000 from the
Sleepytime Spinner. Scott uses the foam to his advantage, well played,
sir. Same cannot be said for the Sinistairs. Impressive performance so
far as he heads to the Gauntlet. The Beater Totter beats him senseless
into the water, but he's got three minutes and change to make a move. He
clocks in at... 10:25!
Can Paige Roddy beat that? She was the
last on the Qualifier... and she'll be the last coming up today. She
loses control on the Dreadmill Launch, and she's taking a passive
approach on the Gut Busters. Second time around is better for her. She
has five minutes left on the Sinistairs. She's working slow and
steady... and to the Gauntlet! Less than a minute on the clock. Moment
of truth on the Beater Totter... And.... WIPEOUT! SCOTT TORGAN DOES AN
IMPRESSION OF A WINNER OF $50,000 AND THE TITLE OF WIPEOUT CHAMPION!
Back on Tuesdays only next week. Until
then, goodnight... and Big Balls.
