Damage Control
December 10

Last time on Survivor, a plan to oust Dave came from a dream that Shambo had. A clever auction gambit turned into immunity for Jaison. And Russell and John running off at the mouths turned into Russell trying (and succeeding) to figure out a way to get rid of John. Now only eight remain.

Night 30: "John was majorly blindsided."

Shambo had no idea what was going on. She thought the plan was to vote Dave. She was stunned. Russell says that John was trying to get rid of Shambo, so he had to intervene. Damage control worked to HIS favor. "I lied to her... I've lied about almost every aspect of my life. I'm the richest man here. I do whatever it takes to win this game."

Too easy indeed.

Day 31: "The game's not over yet."

Jaison hangs with Brett and Monica. They figure Russell and Mick may get a lot of votes. Jaison says that he left Russell out there to be the aggressive bulldog. He's thinking that he may have made the wrong move. Jaison wants to sway the jury by saying that every decision was a group decision. He was calm, while Russell was more abrasive. But no one wants to go up against Russell in the end.

THEN Jaison drops the bomb, saying that Russell made $2 million LAST YEAR. Brett says that it's a matter of time before that bomb ticks and blows up.

I-CHALLENGE: Survivor Bowling

Single-elimination bowling frames. Knock out as many pins as you can. Winner stays, loser pays.

First round: Natalie vs. Shambo - Shambo wins, 9-5.
First round: Brett vs. Russell - Russell wins, 4-0.
First round: Jaison vs. Monica - Jaison wins, 6-1.
First round: Mick vs. Dave - Dave wins, X-8.

Semifinal: Shambo vs. Russell - Shambo wins, 5-4
Semifinal: Jaison vs. Dave - Jaison wins, 7-0

FINAL: Jaison vs. Shambo - JAISON WINS, 2-0!

Back at camp, Dave decides to take a moment to himself. He thinks he's low-man on the pole. The case for getting rid of Dave: Shambo wants him gone, so whatever Shambo wants, Shambo gets. Monica doesn't think Dave's a big threat. Monica doesn't think Russell's an idiot. He's not going to take Shambo to the final, because she'll win against him. Monica believes that she's planted a seed of doubt. Russell has a lot of options, though... He can beat Dave for a million. It's a good move to keep him around, but who would he put up in his place?

Dave and Russell talk about Shambo. Dave can get Monica and Brett, while Russell can get Natalie. Dave thinks that it's a good move, but he has no idea if it is going to work or not. "Miracles happen constantly. The Lord fricking provides." Russell: "I don't even need Shambo. I could let Shambo throw away her vote, and I can get rid of Shambo."

Shambo? "If Dave is not voted out tonight, I think Russ and I are going to be having a chat."

Night 31: Tribal.

Jaison thinks that it's about three things when you vote now: smarts, strength, and the jury. You want to have the best shot at winning the million. Shambo wants to vote people out who don't deserve to go to the end. She thinks that she was more blindsided than John was. Monica thinks unpredictability is scary in this phase of the game. Dave thinks that you have to get people on your side. Russell says that if you know some people are going to get the votes, you gotta get rid of them. That's important to him.

Shambo: "See you later, DAVE."
Dave: SHAMBO

The rest of the votes say... DAVE. By a vote of 7-1, Dave... The tribe has spoken.

Day 32: "The biggest threat left in the game..."

.. is Brett. This according to Russell, who thinks that Brett is just too plain likeable. Doesn't make any sense for him not to get rid of Brett. Mick thinks that Russell is the leader of the tribe right now. He's thinking that perhaps Russell is building the jury. Russell thinks that Mick is freaking out, thinking that maybe he'll flip.

I-CHALLENGE: Seesaw Sandbags

Swim out to sea and get your colored bags. Then launch them to a basket with a seesaw. First to three gets hardware.

Jaison, Mick, and Brett are the first three to come back with bags. Brett's the first one with a bag in the basket. Brett's also the first with his second bag. It's a race between him and Mick.

... but BRETT takes it! Jaison thinks that this could be a problem.

Day 33: "Baby boy comes out from nowhere!"

Monica's still seething about the challenge, while Russell just throws out the name... Monica. She's going to do everything in her power to make sure that doesn't happen. Brett says that Monica is a very likeable person. Monica thinks that Shambo and Natalie are the frontrunners for final three with Russell. Mick compares Russell to a snake that will bite you even after he says that he won't. There are moral and strategic attachments to people. You want to make a big move, you have an opportunity to do so right here right now.

Mick & Jaison talk about Russell being a player. Mick doesn't want to be caught off guard.

Monica and Russell talk about jeopardizing his game, Monica talking about Jaison's counting down the days to day 36 when it's your final day to use the hidden idol. "I can make or break you on the jury." Then she throws NATALIE under the bus... Russell goes to Natalie with this, who goes to Brett... who goes to Jaison. And Jaison... denies everything, saying that Monica is just trying to stay in the game. "We've got to nip this in the bud soon."

And Russell is mad... and he likes it. If he feels the heat, he'll play the idol.

Night 33: Tribal... again.

Before we get into anything, Russell decides to put on his pretty little necklace. No one's really shocked by this turn, as Monica says he's getting cocky up in here. Russell says this puts a target on anyone else's neck. No one knows what he's going to do with it. That's what makes it so powerful. Brett says you have to make yourself humble. Shambo describes how Russell's feathers were ruffled. Monica says with a bit of doubt, she's accomplished her mission. Russell says that if Monica played this hard, she'd be the leader. He's not concerned about finger-pointing, though. Mick is saying... this is not good. Wheels are starting to spin... and in front of the jury to boot.

Russell: MONICA - "Stupid stupid little girl. Bad strategy."
Monica: RUSSELL - "Watch out, because you have a huge target on your back."

Russell decides... not to play the idol. The rest of the votes...

Natalie: MONICA
Brett: RUSSELL
Jaison: MONICA
Shambo: MONICA

Not that it matters, but Mick also voted MONICA. By a vote of 5-2, Monica... the tribe has spoken.
