Round
of 3: Homecoming
May 9
We had a
blowout performance by the final three last night. In
fact, you could say it was "Epic" (in theatres May 24).
But in an hour, one will come so close, only to be so
far. Tonight, season 10 finalist Lauren Alaina, pop diva
Alicia Keys, a world premiere video from Mariah Carey,
and Randy Jackson ain't the only one leaving. It's
RESULTS NIGHT!
First, the top 3 sings
Selena Gomez's "Who Says".
Final Fan Mission is coming.
It's simple, really... PICK THE CAR THE WINNER WILL DRIVE at
AmericanIdol.com. As for the Idols, they're heading back to school to
help a chorus find their voice.
Now it's time to break down
the game tape.
ROUND 1: JIMMY'S CHOICE
If you remember, Jimmy
originally gave it to Angie, saying that she rose to the challenge. But
they all felt nervous. Angie chose not to play the piano on a song that
set her up to play the piano. What was she thinking? She could've had a
moment, but she didn't.
Jessica Sanchez is on Glee
tonight. Apparently a big thing. Meanwhile, another person who lost to a
WGWG is about to take to stage. Her new record is being recorded as we
speak, and the first single is "Barefoot and Buckwild". It's online, go
get it. People of the internet, I give you... LAUREN ALAINA!
Take a day to change your
life. Auditions begin AGAIN this summer.
More game tape.
ROUND 2: JUDGES' CHOICE
Jimmy gives it to Kree. We
agreed. She had the best combination of backstory and song.
Pausing results to watch
Mariah tutor the Idols for a moment... and then watch Mariah's new
video. It's called "#beautiful" and it also features Miguel.
IDOL UPDATE: Adam Lambert
had a couple of hits thanks to playing the strategy game, ultimately
losing to Kris Allen. His latest album "Trespassing" is at #1 on the
Billboard charts. He's currently in the Singapore leg of his world tour.
He'll take his show to the finale next time.
Meanwhile, "Tears Always
Win". That's the new one from... ALICIA KEYS!
ROUND 3: PRODUCERS' CHOICE
Jimmy said, and we're
quoting here... "Candice, you didn't win the round with ("Somewhere"),
you won the NIGHT." She adds... "If she goes home, I'M GOING WITH HER."
... to cheers. Angie did well with "Maybe" by Emeli Sande, but not
extraordinary. The judges didn't like Kree's producer's choice,
but Jimmy did.
And now... the moment of
truth. Three is about to become two...
SERIOUS LIGHTS, SERIOUS
MUSIC....
The first person to sing for
a title next week....
... is...
... CANDICE GLOVER!
The second person...
... to sing for a title...
... is...
... KREE HARRISON!
Unfortunately, that means
that it's time for Angie Miller's final swan song. And the judges... are
discussing... They're discussing, why are they discussing? Anyway, she's
out of the competition, but something tells me we will be seeing more of
her in the future.
Meanwhile, Angie gets played
off with Colton Dixon's "Never Gone".
And the finale is set. The
R&B diva from South Carolina vs. the country blues artist from Texas.
One is going home with the title, the contract, and the presidents. The
Coronation Round... IS NEXT!
