Well
Done, Meat
June 9
In the season finale, two of the remaining
five teams battle it out in the last Exile for a spot in the Finals.
And the four remaining teams compete in an intense finale -- a
grueling race for a share of the $300,000 cash prize!
Previously on Fresh Meat 2, 13 eager newbies were paired with tough
challenge veterans to compete for part of a $300,000 prize. Wes and
Kenny had their alliances, each having three teams, leaving Ryan and
Theresa, Landon and Carley, and Jenn and Noor floating in the middle.
But as the game progressed, Kenny and his strong FM partner, Laurel
won challenge after challenge and gaining the majority, sending Wes
and his mob packing. And with only one challenge left before the
finals, five teams remain in the game.
In the Obstacle challenge, Kenny and Laurel, Landon and Carley, and
Jillian and Pete get three of the four spots in the final challenge.
This leaves Ryan and Theresa to compete against Jenn and Noor in the
final Exile for the remaining open spot.
Exile: Weight For Me: Blackout
As with the previous Exile, teams have to carry buckets with 150
pounds of weight through a 3,600-foot course. The puzzles at the
checkpoints are also the same.
It almost became a repeat performance here, but both teams have
completed all three of the puzzles. In the end, Jenn and Noor cross
the finish line first, ending Ryan and Theresa's time in B.C.
The game is now down to the last four teams; Jenn and Noor, Kenny and
Laurel, Landon and Carley, and Jillian and Pete. And after the players
get themselves prepared, they get their final clue from TJ...
The journey ends tomorrow. Get some rest, and be ready to leave in
the morning.
It's been a long road ahead for these four teams leading up to the
moment they've been all waiting for...
The Final Challenge: The Final Race
The teams will compete in an all-out endurance race to the very top of
Whistler Mountain. This race consists of two phases and four
checkpoints with a task at each one. Teams will start the first phase
with the by taking a canoe and go rowing down the lake to their first
task. Once completed, a helicopter will take them to the second phase.
How they finish the first phase determines how much of a head start
they'll get at the beginning of the second phase.
1st Team = 2-minute Head Start
2nd Team = 1-minute head Start
3rd Team = 30-second Head Start
4th Team = No Head Start
The team that wins the final challenge will split $200,000. The team
that finishes in second place will split $60,000. The team that comes
in third place will split $40,000. The team who finishes in last place
gets nothing, so they might as well have gone home the first week.
It's now go time as the teams get into their canoes, and start the
final challenge off. All of the teams have to use a map which leads
them to the first check point.
CHECKPOINT #1: Teams must arrange all seven puzzle pieces to form the
designated shape.
1st Team Completed - Landon & Carley
2nd Team Completed - Kenny & Laurel
3rd Team Completed - Jillian & Pete
4th Team Completed - Jenn & Noor
After the teams take the helicopter ride, they get to the next check
point as phase two begins.
CHECKPOINT #2: Teams have 20 minutes to complete a 5x5 grid, Sudoku-type
puzzle by having unique numbers by row, column, and color stream.
This puzzle stumps all of the teams and they all have timed out. Now
they have to continue the race riding uphill using mountain bikes that
are tethered toghether by a rope.
Landon and Carley are maintaining their lead, but she could blow it
and have Kenny and Laurel catch up to them. But the rest of the teams
are having their own uphill battles.
CHECKPOINT #3: Teams must move their logs to the designated area and
arrange them to match the image posted on the sign. Once complete,
they must carry the weighted bag to the next checkpoint.
CHECKPOINT #4: Teams must arrange the numbers in a 5x5 grid so that
the sums of each row and column are 34.
Pete and Jillian time out and so do Jenn and Noor, but all of the
teams get helmets and ice axes as they climb up Whistler's Mountain.
Kenny and Laurel are pushing to catch up to Landon and Carley as they
take the final peak.
In a do or die climb to the top of an icy mountain, the final results
have been determined. Landon and Carley reach the finish line first,
followed by Kenny and Laurel, Jillian and Pete, and Jenn and Noor.
Jenn and Noor's last-place finish gets then nothing, like the other
teams that got eliminated. Jillian and Pete go back to the US with a
wireless mobile device and $20,000 a piece. Kenny and Laurel go home
with $30,000 a piece, plus a digital camera, and a few other prizes.
And to Landon and Carley, they've already won a digital home
entertainment projector and an HDTV. They're also going home richer
than the others with two big checks in the amount of $100,000. I hope
all of the players have enjoyed their time in British Columbia. And I
hope you've enjoyed reading my recaps for The Challenge: Fresh Meat
II.
