Episode 4.15 - Spring Wipeout: Engaged Couples
May 19

There's an old Buddhist saying... "Winter never fails to turn into spring." We had the winter of our discontent for the last eight episodes... But today, here comes the sun! Get ready for ENGAGED COUPLES SPRING WIPEOUT!

THE QUALIFIER

Tonight, the Qualifier consists of...

- The Love Boat Launch.. hit the ramp before the ramp hits back.
- The Big Balls... Now with a new SPRING-ovator conveyor belt. No spring there, though. Plenty of spring on the Balls, though.
- The Spring Fling... A small ball bounces over to the giant swing going in the wrong direction.
- The Wipeout Kitchen... and in celebration of the day, the rolling pins (heh) put a ring on it.

As this is a teams round, each couple will run the course together, with the six fastest moving on.

ADVANCING TO ROUND 2
- Tiffany Bartram & Ryan Stangl
- Victoria Trapiani & Adam Latka
- Katie Carlstrom & Brian Hunt
- Qyen Nguyen & Austin Lee
- Kelly Kynon & Justin Green
- Angela Todaro & Eric Telaak

THE SCARE-OUSEL

What's a spring fling without a carnival classic? Contestants will start on the red track, grab a red dangler, and make it to a red spot that leads to a yellow dangler and do the same thing with a yellow dangler. If they wipeout before the spot, they'll have to go back to the start, but the first three teams to avoid the sweeper arms and make it to the finish target move on to the next stage.

ADVANCING TO ROUND 3
- Katie Carlstrom & Brian Hunt
- Victoria Trapiani & Adam Latka
- Angela Todaro & Eric Telaak

THE WIPEOUT WEDDING CHAPEL

I hope you're ready for a quickie, because only the two quickest teams are going to the Zone. Each round will start with a spin around the Dizzy Dummy. First up, players will have to dive off of the Springboards onto a rotating platform and a bouncing box. Then it's onto the Crankshaft, the Knee Sweeper, and the Spinning Platform onto the finish. Wipeout at the Crankshaft or the Knee Sweeper, and you can start back there. And here to help out the wipeouts are the most dapper bride and ugliest groom in a dress you'll see this season. Henson also makes a becoming-not-too-rare appearance on the floor.

THE SPRING WIPEOUT ZONE

Back and with a spring fresh smell, it's the toughest of the courses, the Spring Wipeout Zone! Tonight's lineup...

- The Chairborne: a rocket chair will launch our players into the Zone.
- The Over and Out: two rotating cliffhangers with floors on both the top and the bottom... but the bottom... or is it the top... has a hole.
- The Point Break: climb up one end, then time the slide down to the other.
- The Coin Toss: heads or tails, it adds up to eight spinning platforms on to the finish.

Because this is a team round, it's going to be the fastest COMBINED time. Now normally, we'd hand over 50 quid and call it a day, BUT this round is different. The winners of this round will not only win $50,000, but they'll get a 7-day Disney cruise to the Mexican Riviera! Now THAT's worth wiping out over!

First up, the men. Brian Hunt will run it first. Brian becomes the first to hang onto the top of the Over and Out to cut his time short. He clocks in at 6:12.

Next up, Adam Latka will have to cut into that time to set pace. Adam is PERFECT on the Over and Out. This is going to be a tight race. So close on the Point Break, but not quite. He's on at 9 minutes flat.

Now the women will have to build on those times. First up is Katie Carlstrom, who has about a three-minute advantage going into the Zone. She gets clobbered by the Coin Toss, can't seal the deal in two, so she'll try in three... STOP IT! Time to beat is 18:20.

That gives Victoria Trapiani 9:20 to finish the Zone. She keeps missing in Point Break. She has a minute left to finish it AND the Coin Toss... SHE MAKES IT! Will she pass the Coin Toss in 45 seconds, though? One... two... three.. four... wipeout. Overachievers under achieve, and THE FUTURE MR. & MRS. BRIAN HUNT ARE GOING CRUISING WITH $50,000!

That'll do it for the spring. That only leaves one thing... THE SUMMER! We'll be back then with even more players, even more obstacles, and even more wipeouts.  Until then, good night... and big balls.
