Episode 4.12 - Spring Wipeout: The Wizard of Owws
April 14

There's an old Buddhist saying... "Winter never fails to turn into spring." We had the winter of our discontent for the last eight episodes... But today, here comes the sun! Get ready for SPRING WIPEOUT!

Tonight, the Qualifier consists of...

- Bowled Over... Gordon's favorite pastime comes to the Wipeout course!
- The Big Balls... Now with a new SPRING-ovator conveyor belt. No spring there, though. Plenty of spring on the Balls, though.
- The Spring Fling... Giant swing going in the wrong direction.
- The Wipeout Kitchen... Pies and baked goods this week, followed by rolling pin hurdles.

The 24 spring breakers will take on the course, and the 12 with the fastest times will advance to stage 2.

- Roy "Crushing Cowboy" Hernandez
- Sarah "Team Taco Truck" Weeger
- Molly "Cheeseball" Sanborn
- Taylor Skinner
- Tommy Truong
- "Golden Girl" Leo Dunn
- "Mr. T" Erik Simmons
- Camille "Bucket List" Bulot
- Scott "Big Blue" Devine
- Ronald Coronado
- Ryan "Scarecrow" Krogstad
- Christina "B-Boy Lady" Powers

What's a spring fling without a carnival classic? Contestants will start on the red track, grab a red dangler, and make it to a red spot that leads to a yellow dangler and do the same thing with a yellow dangler. If they wipeout before the spot, they'll have to go back to the start, but the first six to avoid the sweeper arms and make it to the finish target move on to the next stage.

- Roy "Crushing Cowboy" Hernandez
- Sarah "Team Taco Truck" Weeger
- "Golden Girl" Leo Dunn
- Camille "Bucket List" Bulot
- Ryan "Scarecrow" Krogstad
- Christina "B-Boy Lady" Powers

The Colosseum was ransacked, and in its place... an Arabian fantasy land. Each of the three rounds will start with a spin around the Dizzy Dummy. First up, players will have to dive off of the Springboards onto a rotating platform and a bouncing box. Then it's onto the Crankshaft, the Knee Sweeper, and the Spinning Platform onto the finish. Wipeout at the Crankshaft or the Knee Sweeper, and you can start back there. And here to help out the wipeouts are a swashbucking swordsman and his ever-so-servile genie.

- Roy "Crushing Cowboy" Hernandez
- "Golden Girl" Leo Dunn
- Camille "Bucket List" Bulot

Back and with a spring fresh smell, it's the toughest of the courses, the Spring Wipeout Zone! Tonight's lineup...

- The Spring Shot
- The Over and Out: two rotating cliffhangers with floors on both the top and the bottom... but the bottom... or is it the top... has a hole.
- The Point Break: climb up one end, then time the slide down to the other.
- The Coin Toss: heads or tails, it adds up to eight spinning platforms on to the finish.

Fifty large goes to the quickest time.

First up, Roy Hernandez impresses Jill... again... with a pot of tulips. He busts his two lips... and perhaps the rest of his face... in the Over and Out. Five minutes in, and he times his slide to bust whatever's left. He ends up with an unorthodox way of getting past the Coin Toss for a time of 11:58.

Next up, Leo Dunn takes the course, keeping pace with Roy's time and making some of the same errors he did, especially in the Point Break. He slings it and has three minutes at the Coin Toss... It only takes him two to get past for the lead with a time of 10:16.

But will the youngest contestant today cross Wipeout Champion off her bucket list? It's time for Camille Bulot to see the Zone... and then take the Zone. She plays the Over and Out fast and loose, but she's got life in her, passing Leo's pace and gets slung AGAIN. She has six minutes to pass the Coin Toss. It only takes one. WITH A TIME OF 5:44, NO ONE YOUNGER AND NO ONE BETTER THAN CAMILLE BULOT!

We'll spring 24 more people onto the course for $50,000 next time. Until then, good night... and big balls.
