4.8 - Winter Wipeout: Family Night, Kids Eat It For Free
February 24
America's favorite obstacle course has just been
winterized, and 'tis the season to be freezin'. On our course today, ice slicked
spills, frosbitten falls, and bone-chilling tumbles...
THE WINTER WONDERLAND QUALIFIER
Tonight, the Qualifier consists of...
- The Snowblower... above, a few
well-placed cranks. Below... mud. Between, a trampoline.
- The Big Balls... Now with a new Snow-tivator conveyor belt
- The Polar Bear Express... More bears on the Snowplow Sweepers... More
beared pain.
- The Yule Log Jam... Two teeter totters and one sweeper separating
them.
The 12 pairs will take on the course, and the
six with the fastest times will advance to stage 2.
ADVANCING TO ROUND 2
"Ding & Dong" Dennis & John Ross
"Salt & Pepper" Don Kemper & Tatiana Kelly
Amy Batten & Angela Medure
Twin roomies Gary & Larry Lane
Bruce & Sally Aster
Britney & John Pulsifer
THE SKI LIFT
Contestants will start above elevated
platforms ten feet above icy cold water. As they go around and around,
they have to get over sweeper arms that will be ascending higher and
higher as the time progresses. The three teams who last the longest will
advance, but the last person to hang on will receive $1000.
ADVANCING TO ROUND 3
Amy Batten & Angela Medure
Twin roomies Gary & Larry Lane
Bruce & Sally Aster - $1000 BONUS
MOUNT WIPEOUT CHALET
It looks a lot like the Ice Arena, but
it's slightly less... hockeyish. Is our newest challenge, and each of
the three rounds will start with a wintry whirl around the Dizzy Dummy.
First up, players will have to dive off of the Springboards onto a
rotating platform and a bouncing box. Then it's onto the Crankshaft, the Knee Sweeper, and the
Spinning Platform onto the finish. Wipeout at the Crankshaft or the Knee
Sweeper, and you can start back there. And here to help out the wipeouts
are a couple of snow bunnies.
ADVANCING TO THE WIPEOUT ZONE

THE WINTER WIPEOUT ZONE
Boldly and coldly going forward where no
player has gone before... the Winter Wipeout Zone! Tonight...
- The Bobsled Blastoff
- The Icy Stairway From Hell: a half-dozen of hydraulic blocks.
- The Frostbite: three toothy sweepers as you make your way from one side to
the others
- The Sinister Snowflake: no two wipeouts are the same in this gauntlet.
Fifty large goes to the quickest time.
First up, the wonder twins Gary & Larry.
Remember, team rules apply. It's fastest combined time and where one
clock stops, the other will start. Because of this they punch in a time
of 16:29.
.... That's important, because Bruce,
going for the Asters first, clocks in way too long at the Frostbite,
giving us a time of 15:49. That means that Sally will have 40 seconds to
complete the entire course! Needless to say, that doesn't happen. WONDER
TWIN POWERS, ACTIVATE TO THE TUNE OF $50,000! GARY & LARRY LANE ARE YOUR
WIPEOUT CHAMPIONS!
That'll do it for the Winter Wipeout
season, but stay tuned, because in a few weeks, we're getting ready for
the spring! Until then, goodnight... and Big Balls.
