At the End of the World
August 24

The final challenge of Rivals is already underway in Patagonia. So far on the girls' side, Ev and Paula are in the lead. On the guys' side though, Johnny and Tyler are in the lead. Four out of the six teams will end up with big money as the season finale of Rivals begins.

Checkpoint #1: Pet Rock

Teams must carry or drag their rock and chain with them for the rest of this challenge. They must keep their rock with them at all times.

Checkpoint #2: Memories

Teams must memorize a campsite in which they must recreate later on.

Checkpoint #3: Pile

Teams must move an entire dirt pile uphill into a large, designated rectangular box.

On the guys' side, Kenny and Wes now posess the first place position.

Checkpoint #4: Re-Creation Campsite

Teams must build the campsite exactly as it was back in the second checkpoint, but there are some dud items are thrown in. If a team's campsite is built incorrectly, then they have to go all the way back to that checkpoint before going right back to try again.

Paula and Evelyn get discouraged when their tent is assembled incorrectly. But Cara Maria and Laurel get their campsite completely correct and get themselves a head start. Jenn then throws a tantrum while building Mandi and her's campsite.

Checkpoint #5: Final Feast

Teams must eat everything that is given at their table.

Ev & Paula take the ladies' lead back from Cara Maria & Laurel after they've eaten. Tyler then makes up for lost time by eating the food quickly.

Enroute to the next checkpoint, Kenny gets frustrated at Wes when he continuously falls. Johnny & Tyler then catch up to Wes & Kenny, before Jenn & Mandi have finally completed their campsite correctly.

Checkpoint #6: Sleep or Stand

One member of each team must sleep while their teammates stand on a rock throughout the night. Every hour, they have to switch positions; players who fall off the rock must wake up their teammate and get them to say "I forgive you" in an acceptable manner before they continue with their roles. If they disrupt anyone else, then they get a 10-minute penalty for the next morning.

The teams who made it to the checkpoint's area don't see Jenn and Mandi. By this point in time the producer stops that team who were on their way to the next checkpoint. He then tells Jenn and Mandi that it would be too dark and dangerous for them to continue, so they get disqualified and end up with no reward.

The final challenge now enters its second day and T.J. appears. Day 2 of the final challenge is split into two parts. For the first part, teams must hike up to the top of a mountain. The teams now get headstart times based on the order of who showed up in the previous checkpoint.

For the girls', Paula and Evelyn got to checkpoint #6 first and they gets a two-minute head start. Then Cara Maria & Laurel will following them for a single minute.

As for the guys, Kenny and Wes get to checkpoint #6 first and they a two-minute head start. But after Johnny & Tyler get their one-minute head start, Michael couldn't handle to potential danger and he decides to take him and Leroy out of the competition.

After the four remaining teams have climbed all the way to the top of the mountain, they must now use an avalanche beacon to locate a key to unlock their trophies.

The other teams race neck and neck in the last sprint to the trophies. In the end, Johnny & Tyler and Paula & Evelyn get the trophies and they both win $100,000 (50K for each player). Wes & Kenny and Cara Maria & Laurel both finish second and they both get $50,000 (25K per player).

And that's the end of this season of MTV's The Challenge. All of the teams had their rivalries throughout the 10 episodes. Some of the teams have buried the hatchet while a few others have been called rivals for a reason.
