D-Day
July 13

Previously on Rivals, Wes decided to provoke his biggest competition, C.T. in an attempt to get him out of the game. Unfortunately, it's C.T.'s top priority to mess with Wes. C.T. and Adam have swept up the competition in the Sync or Swim challenge for the guys. Paula and Ev had also won it for the girls, but Camila and Theresa become the Jungle's next victims. Today one of the six remaining male pairs will be out of Costa Rica.

The men of the mob ask Paula and Evelyn to put C.T. and Adam at a disadvantage in the next challenge. But Evelyn sees a glaring error that could mean the end of the line of Wes and Kenny.

Challenge #4: Hammock Crawl

Two teams at a time must make their way from one platform to the other by crawling on several hammocks within a 15-minute time limit. They can only touch two hammocks at one time and no team member can touch the next hammock until they're both are in the previous one.

Round 1:
C.T. & Adam - round completed
Leroy & Michael - round completed

Round 2:
Sarah & Katelynn - DQ (Sarah touched one hammock too many while Katelynn didn't go past the starting point.)
Jenn & Mandi - DQ (Jenn splashed down)

Round 3:
Ty & Brandon - round completed
Kenny & Wes - DQ (Kenny splashed down)

Round 4:
Cara Maria & Laurel - round completed
Jasmine & Jonna - DQ (Jonna splashed down)

Round 5:
Evan & Nehemiah - round completed
Johnny & Tyler - round completed

6th & Final Round: Paula and Evelyn - DQ (Paula splashed down)

Cara Maria and Laura were the only team to complete the challenge, so they get immunity. However, they don't get the $2,000 bonus prize because they didn't finish within the 15-minute limit. This is probably the first time in the history of MTV's The Challenge that no team wins a bonus prize.

Over on the men's side Nehemiah and Evan had one of the three fastest times in this challenge. But upon further review, they touched three hammocks at once, so they got DQ'ed. Johnny and Tyler, who finished in second place, were given the win by default. And for the second time so far, Kenny and Wes will go into the jungle.

Since Wes and Kenny got disqualified, their D-Day plan had lost their effectiveness. Wes is now trying to get the other competitors to vote for Brandon and Ty. The deliberations begin and Brandon appeals to the house to vote in the rookies. But that didn't work out as Ty and Brandon are Kenny and Wes' opponents in the jungle. Evelyn knows that the D-Day plan that the mob came up with was idiotic. Maybe they should have listened to Evelyn, but the mob is still going through.

Jungle Game: Going Up

Each team will start on either side of a water pit. On T.J.'s signal, the players involved must run and jump to their assigned rope. If both players of the team go up and ring both of their bells first, they win. If one player of each team rings the bell, they'll then play another round one-on-one to determine the winning team.

The first round ends in a tie between Brandon and Wes, so they play the deciding final round. The challenge ends with Brandon getting gassed on the final rope climb, resulting in a win for Kenny and Wes. Brandon's energy had ran out and so is his and Ty's time in Costa Rica.

C.T. was this close to getting Wes out of the house, but he's now back where he started. Kenny better step up his A-game if he and Wes want to avoid going back to the jungle again.
