Team Five-Year Itch
July 30

Tonight... one team will face 10 games, each 60 seconds in length. Playing with household items could win you $250,000. But first, you have to beat the clock. And EVERY. SECOND. COUNTS. Diana (25; Winnetka, CA) & Andy (30; Oak Harbor, WA) have one thing in mind... the perfect wedding. Will they walk down the aisle in under a minute OR is happily ever after only worth three lives?

As a reminder of what's at stake...

LEVEL 1: $1000
LEVEL 2: $2000
LEVEL 3: $3000
LEVEL 4: $5000
LEVEL 5: $10,000
LEVEL 6: $15,000
LEVEL 7: $25,000
LEVEL 8: $50,000
LEVEL 9: $100,000
LEVEL 10: $250,000

Once you pass the $1000, $10,000 and the $25,000 levels, you are guaranteed that much money. Otherwise, it's the same game. Ten challenges, each to be accomplished in under a minute. Complete the task, and you move to the next level. You will have three lives to use during the game. At the end of each level, you can take the cash and dash, or you can stay and play, and that's important, because if you run out of lives, your game is over and you leave with the last safeguard.

And of course, as the Computer will tell you, "Failure to complete this task in 60 seconds may result in ELIMINATION."

MILESTONE LEVEL 1: MOVIN' ON UP: The contestant is given a stack of 39 blue cups and one red one. Using alternating hands, he or she must move the red cup from the bottom to the top and back to the base by taking blue cups from the top and moving them to the bottom.

First attempt (Andy)...  FAIL (TIME OUT; TWO lives remaining)

Second attempt (Diana)... COMPLETE! (:07; $1000)

LEVEL 2: BACK FLIP: One contestant must flip four pencils from the back of their hand and catch them in mid-air. This must be repeated six times, with two pencils added for each progression until there is a stack of 14.

First attempt (Andy)...  COMPLETE! (:16, $2000)

LEVEL 3: FIELD GOAL: The contestants must construct a field goal upright by balancing six plastic cups on a yardstick that is being balanced by another plastic cup. This must be held for a three count.

Attempt 1... FAIL (the cups were not stacked properly at :23; ONE life remaining)

FINAL Attempt... COMPLETE! (:28, $3000)

LEVEL 4: PLAY IT BY EAR: Eight closed soda cans contain pennies, starting with five and going up in five penny increments to 40 pennies. Only being able to shake the cans, the contestants must line up the cans in decreasing order (40 on the left, five on the right).

ONLY Attempt (Diana)... COMPLETE! ($5000)

MILESTONE LEVEL 5: FLIP YOUR LID: The team must flip an inverted plastic cup onto a soda bottle one foot away.

Only attempt...  COMPLETE! (:42; $10,000)

LEVEL 6: PONG5: The contestant must bounce five ping-pong balls in a row into a glass ONCE in 20 attempts.

Only attempt (Andy)...  COMPLETE! (:08, $15,000)

LEVEL 7: CADDY STACK: The contestant must use one of 350 dimples on a golf ball to stack three of them for a three-count.

YOUR RECAP CONTINUES IN 3... 2... 1...
