Episode 3.27 - March 22

Heidi McIntosh says that she is the weakest person on the show - but she says that sometimes the weakest people win. Next to her is Eric Thulander, who works out twice a day, 6 days a week, as he will sit back and laugh all the way to the bank. He's got nothing on Tatiana Butler, a blonde African-American woman who has muscles on muscles and who describes herself getting angry as The Hulk on PMS. Next to her is Michael Rashatello, who says that he's just on to have a good time. Stephanie Strynek also is happy-go-lucky, but she is determined. Stacy Teems thinks that he is everyone's biggest fear and the show should be changed to "Stacy Factor". We have an...interesting collection of characters on this episode.

For the first stunt, the collecting is flags, as the people will be sliding down a 60 story building. The man and the woman who collects the least amount of flags will not be egging on their ego on this show.

Eric is doing this for James Lee, his best friend who died over a year and a half ago. People dedicating their performances for deceased friends and relatives usually fare well. How well is 4 flags? Too early to tell, but I don't think that it looks good.

While she is doing her stunt, we compare the 178 pound Amazon Tatiana, who is picked up by weight-lifter Joe. Tatiana, in turns, fireman carries Joe, who says "Mommy!" Heh.

Michael is up next - and he says that he is afraid of heights. That is not a good combo - and the fact that he didn't actively grab for the flags doesn't help him. He gets an even worse three flags, and it looks like Stacy will be giving Michael his walking papers. "He's got to go."

Joe says that guys like Stacy usually choke, but after a prayer to Jesus, he is on the move - and using his smarts and grabbing all of the flags on one side. Joe - "How many do you got?" Stacy - "See you later, Mike." Stacy "stopped" at 5, so Mike, who will be leaving, apologizes to his friends and family. "It's all fun and games until you look like a douche-bag on national TV."

None of the women want to look like a douche-bag, so they all need to get as many flags as possible. Heidi's strategy of only grabbing the flag on one side is a sound one - but her being afraid of heights isn't good as she hyperventilates throughout the stunt. She only gets 2 and she should be joining Mike on the train to Loserville.

Stephanie is warned to not be overconfident, but she was brought up from a crazy family - as she was taught to swim like she had no arms. Wha? After some early difficulty, she swings her body around and grabs 5 flags.

All Tatiana needs to do is to get 2 flags. "There's no such things as failure, and there's no such thing as fear. I'm hardcore, baby." She didn't exactly fail - but she didn't really succeed either. She did get two flags, which keeps her in the game, but that also keeps Heidi (who ties with her) in the game as well and she gets a second chance at the money. Is that a mistake that everyone will pay for?

Their stomachs will be paying for it as Joe Rogan unveils his second stunt. The contestants are taken to a car junkyard as they see two car's windshields with covers over them. On one car's windshield are earthworms, superworms, grasshoppers, beetles and crickets. On the other windshield are the same types of bugs - in a squished form. What the contestants have to do is to transfer the squished bugs on the windshield to a scale. The 2 people with the least amount of bugs in the scale will be eliminated.

Tatiana is first, and she is looking forward to it. She is described as "Ray Lewis in a tank top," and she is going to town on that windshield. She tired down, but Joe tells her that she needs her cardio work in for the day. Her total weight is 6 ounces and Joe is impressed. Joe's impressiveness should be an indicator that 6 ounces should be good enough.

Not as sure is Heidi, who is concerned that she won't get enough bugs in the scale. Her fear is justified, as she only gets 5 7/8 ounces. Tatiana screams "Yes!"

Eric has a strategy - and that's to use his face to smear all of the bugs to the center and then pick them all up. That strategy doesn't work, as all of the bugs aren't moving and he is having a very tough time picking them up. He also peters out at the end and both of those things come back to hurt him. Eric's final time is 5.5 ounces, and that sends a now crying Tatiana to the finals. She is doing this for her friends who has cerebral palsy as she bawls all over the place. AwwwwBarf.

Stacy says that he is going for 8 ounces. Tatiana says that his mouth is so big that he shouldn't have a problem with it. Stacy is using the making love technique to the windshield - he pounces on the hood and slides his mouth all the way up from the bottom to the top, like he was licking... well, you know. A pissed off Eric is looking on, realizing that his time on Fear Factor may be over. It is, as Stacy gets 7 ounces and the dedication to James will have to continue elsewhere.

Stacy and Tatiana are in the finals - will Heidi be joining them? Or will Stephanie beat 5 7/8 ounces? Stephanie gets a mouthful in at the buzzer - but it doesn't matter because she was well over the mark long-before-hand. She gets 7 3/8 ounces, so Heidi's survival in the first stunt was only a temporary reprieve to her elimination.

We are down to the African American woman with the big muscles, the African-American man with the big mouth, and the demure white girl who we haven't really heard that much from for the episode. If she wants to make herself hears, she needs to win the final stunt - which is located 100 feet over the pier's water. The objective is to transfer flags from one station to another while walking across a rotating balance beam. Whoever gets the most amount of flags carried (or gets it done the quickest if there's a tie) will win the $50,000.

Tatiana goes first - and she knows that she needs to set a high bar. We also know that she does not do well with heights - and in this case, the heights win. She gets ZERO flags, and she is gone. She is upset and winds up crying. "I busted my butt. I did my very best and my best wasn't good enough."

It's Stephanie's turn to set a high bar for Stacy, who says that he won't lose to the women, who would have better off by staying home and baking some apple pies. He is doing this for his kids, who may be baking $50,000 in the oven for him. To bring home the bacon though, he will have to be perfect - and faster than Stephanie, who gets all the flags transferred in 3:33.9.

Stacy is the last person up, and he says that it would be devastating to lose to a woman. He gives another mantra that he will win everything and he tells his wife that he will be home with the cash. He is moving much faster than Stephanie, and she is hoping that Stacy makes a mistake. He doesn't - but he did slip after getting the 5th flag and he moves noticeably slower. Did that tumble cost him the $50,000? His time was....3:20.

Stacy has enough of a time reserve to over come his slip and his wife better be having the oven ready for the bacon, Then again, she'll probably be using some of that money for the ingredients to the apple pies, so it can't be all bad.
