Estonia It's no secret that Deal or No Deal is not a new idea in the world. When it premiered in 2005 in the US, it was the number one game show worldwide in places like the Netherlands, Australia, and India. Tonight. Howie continues his round-the-world jaunt as we arrive in Tallinn, Estonia, joined by Alari Kivisaar, the Estonian host of "Võta voi Jäta", which has aired since 2007. Let's be straight on some things. This is the American game with American players playing for American money... with foreign models. The first one tonight is DAVE KRAUCH. He was in the Navy where he heard about Estonia, and he's planning on taking a million back to America, where he drives a cab and does another job. Dave goes with #13 tonight.
Let's get it started with six. 14 - $100 Five of the big seven are still on the board. Now we go to the Estonian banker, bald... not sexy... as he fields the first offer of...
First decision is easy... Võta voi Jäta? "JÄTA." No deal it is. Five cases... 9 - $5 Tight block means Crazy Dave is going to get a tight, crazy offer...
Four big cases are left on the board with four picks next round. Meanwhile, Dave looks for supporters in Tallinn. He finds ... ONE. That one... Katja, his new best friend. Joining her is Teresa (sister), Angela (friend), and Ed (barber). Katja and the others say no deal. That's what Dave goes with. 15 - "I'm sorry." $200,000 Million's gone, and so is the offer...
"NO DEAL!" Next three.. 21 - $10 The banker admits to being against the wall with this offer...
There's a one-in-four shot at six figures, OR he can take the guarantee... NO DEAL. 2 - $500,000 Banker's calling...
$750,000 is still alive. The banker tells him to take his time. Ther's a one-in-six shot of opening $750K... and the same odds for having that. The locals say DEAL... the family says no... NO DEAL! 11 - $400 This will raise the bank offer. "Are you going to be the crazy American who takes it too far?"
He can quit one of his job. Is he willing to chance it? The girls say no... Ed says deal. Dave.. shuts the box. NO DEAL! 3 - As Crazy Dave looks like he's about to lose it... "It's not good... for HIM." $1000 Crazy Dave just became Lucky Dave with this offer...
Again, everyone wants him to deal. Dave... shuts it again. NO DEAL. Another case... 10 - $10,000! Down to three and so far, Dave's dodged bullets like... well, crazy. Crazy Dave just became "Super Dave". Here's the new offer...
"If you don't take this deal, I'm going to kick your crazy ass!" This coming from his sister. "I'm crazy, but not insane." DEAL for $218,000. But was it the right decision? #1 had $750,000. Thinks that answers the question... In Dave's case.
We reset the cases in time to welcome... ELAINE PRIMEAUX. Elaine's from Texarkana, TX, where she's a hairdresser. She just turned 50, and she's ready to celebrate with us. (Trivia: top money in an Estonian game is about $100,000) Elaine goes with the age of her first job... #14.
Starting with six... 1 - $500 We're left with four of the big seven, including the million. Good first offer..
She needs to remodel her ancient bathroom... NO DEAL. First, though, Howie takes the game to the streets, where one lucky Estonian, Galina, wins 1000 kroons (or $100). Now for five cases. Elaine notes that Estonia is famous for blood sausage. This is relevant. 3 - $5000 There's a ringing in our ears. Alari fields this offer...
Stacy, Misty (daughters), and Tina (best friends) are here in Tallinn to help. It's a banker's board... but still.. NO DEAL. This next case is for Holly, her third daughter. 10 - BANOODLES! Banker is forced to raise the stakes here... The banker issues our player a challenge... A plate of blood sausage. First, the offer...
Banker says that if he eats the blood sausage, he'll double the size of the offer. The help says to eat it. Elaine goes for it. Reluctantly. So true to his word, the Banker has doubled the size of the offer to...
Get it? He doubled the SIZE of the offer. It's still $91,000. Three cases and three big amounts including $1 million. It's a draw board. The daughters want another round. They're getting one. NO DEAL. And the box is broken. 11 - $1,000,000 The million is gone, so the banker's dropping to... There's a 50/50 shot at six figures.
NO DEAL. Next two... 12 - $300 Now we're up to a safety net. The banker offers...
There's a one-in-three shot at more than the bank offer... Elaine wants one more case. NO DEAL! 21 - "I'm so sorry..." $400,000. We're sorry, too. Banker's not sorry. He's doing a happy dance...
NO DEAL. Next case... 18 - $200 She's still in the game with a one-in-four chance at $100,000.
Misty wants her to go one more time. She does. NO DEAL. Taking a peek at this one. 9 - Alari: "Sometimes knowing is good. Sometimes knowing is bad." This time... it's good. $1000 New offer...
They all want one more time. "Sorry, girls. Sorry, Estonians." DEAL for $40,000! Was it the right decision? #25 had... $10,000. Bank offer... $55,000. In Elaine's case...
