Episode 3.2:
The NFL Special
September 19
Are you ready for some game show?
It's a Wednesday night party. The NFL invades Deal or No Deal to
grant a Colts fan a chance at $1 million. Said fan is... GEORGE
BARNES. We'll meet him later, though.
First, let's meet his support. His
wife and friends all say that football means EVERYTHING to
George. This should be huge for him. He's in the vault and can't
hear or see anything... until Howie tells him to come on down...
and even then he can't see and hear anything.
Okay, now take off your blindfold.
Looks cool, doesn't it? The NFL and the DOND got together and
decked the place proper, just for you, George.
By the way, he's an assistant
principal and father of two. He wants to see the Colts win from
the front row. Let's see if we can't get him there.
First, let's bring some more help,
in the form of Jerry Rice, Marcus Allen, Eric Dickerson, Kordell
Stewart, Wayne Chrebet, Terrell Davis, Rod Woodson, and Marshall
Faulk, all of which present him with a Peyton Manning jersey...
George's choice of case is... #18.
As if you couldn't guess.
As always, we start
with six.

Is that enough to
pay down debt? Is that enough to take the little lady on the
honeymoon she deserves? NFL's advice... "Listen to the wife." No
deal!
Expect a huge offer.
Oh, it's huge. This is a one-time offer. It's the ultimate NFL
fan package. We start with a 2008 GMC Sierra Denali with
tailgating gear, four season tickets to the Colts, three games
sideline passes WITH practices, two autographed football,
honorary 12th man passes to throw out the first ball, a
once-in-a-lifetime Super Bowl XLII package with two tickets,
airfare and hotel for four nights, VIP tickets to the Super Bowl
concert series beforehand, and a behind-the-scenes tour of the
NFL Network AND lunch with a former player. The total is
$66,900. (Rod Roddy) Add that to the $50,000 cash you could win,
gives you a grand total, George, of... (/Rod Roddy)

Good offer worth
taking if you are a big fan of the NFL. BUT there's still a big
chunk of money left there. Two cases to go, and it's a dealer's
board. So do you take it and go on your way... or do you open up
two more cases? Deal... or no deal? The wife says, "Will this
pay your debt off?"
No, it won't. No deal.
Banker calls again, saying
he's insulted that his offer went unmatched. But he's bringing the truck
back out for an audience member to drive home in. Audience member #43
just won himself a Denali. Wonderful and mean at the same time. Let's
see if the decision was worth it.
Two cases...

with a gift certificate from NFLshop.com.
Back to the offer. $195,000
means no more debt and enough Colts tickets for a while.
"No deal." One more case. He
calls an audible.
Let's get the

There's a 40% chance
that George has at least six figures. We're giving up almost a
quarter-mill for a chance at four times that. Jerry Rice:
"Sometimes you have to put everything on the line."
... NO DEAL!
The million is still
in play. You took a chance, and you got the lesser of two evils.
The banker offers...

Odds are that the
next case will not be the million. If it isn't, then the offer
goes back up. Is one hit going to put him back on defense? "I
can walk away a champion." The crowd says to deal...
And he does. DEAL for
$189,000! A great game. But was it the right choice?
Kelly had... $10,000. Bank
offer... $341,000. Ursula... "We've been dying to know what was in this
case. Oh... Only $400." Bank offer... $520,000. In George's case...
A TERRIBLE DEAL!
"I told you it was in
there!"
As Lindsay opens her case
dumbfounded...
Okay, we'll try again next
week.
