January 6
Last time, the Million Dollar Mission began anew. Tonight, not only are we
loading the cases on the board, we're stepping back in time to do it, with a 70s
themed game and an 80s themed game.
But before we hop into the WABAC machine, let's meet NICK ABDULLAH. He just
moved to SoCal from Niagara Falls, where he was an accountant by day, and "Disco
Nick" by night. Disco is his thing. He wants to use the money to help out his
family and get a new car. Oh, and he also wants to open a disco club in SoCal.
Now that our disco-fied models are in place, we begin with a standard case
affair and #10 for mom's birthday and Nick's jersey number.
Howie quickly gets into the leisure suit mode
(C-Note: .... ew?)... and we get into the game.
12 - $100
18 - $75,000
15 - $200,000
2 - $5,000
21 - $75
16 - $400,000
We're having a bit of fun, and the banker is having none of that. Based on the
last round, which saw four big amounts go away, calls for a disco move... and
then offers this based on that move...

Good first offer, and if only because he's got a
soft spot for disco. It's a lot of money, but Nick came for more.
During the break, Disco Nick comes back appropriately dressed for more
case-picking.

Great round. Back to a draw board. Back to a raised offer... A record breaking

Note to banker drone... You suck at breaking a
record. A good "outrageous game show moment", though. This will get Nick a new
car. There's a 27% chance that Nick is sitting on more than the offer (read:
six-plus figures). Wes says send the deal back. So that's what we're doing. NO
DEAL!

of that...

It's a HELP, but that's it. DEAL for $15,000. But
was it a good decision?
Jenelle had $50. Bank offer: $27,000. Nick had...
A good deal.
Now fast-forward to the 80s with TERESA TROGLIO. She's from Bayonne, NJ, and she
said that the 80s were the time of her life. She had the big hair (and we have
photos). She's a mother of two, and she's playing for them.
Cases are reset and models are redressed (along with Teresa's daughter Nicolette).
Time to start this thing, but first, we make some substitutions. $1 has a
scrunchy, $5 has hairspray, $10 has leg warmers, and $25 has a boom box.
Hopefully none of those things are in case #19.
Now to start the decade of the game show with six
cases...
11 - Scrunchy
26 - Her dad's favorite... $300
17 - Leg warmers
8 - $400
22 - Nicolette's birthday... $25,000
10 - $75,000
Time for a phone call... Banker... "She's from Jersey. I thought I smelled
something." That's the junk from Staten Island, apparently. The first offer...

good enough for Teresa's two kids. NO DEAL!
Teresa would also like to get enough for a new kitchen. Five more cases...

13 - Her husband's favorite... With Pac-Man dying, $400,000
24 - $1,000,000
6 - $500
9 - Teresa's favorite... $100!
Two big ones are gone and we see the effect in the offer...

No change. Nicolette says that the banker better
the raise the offer before she leaves. Talk about a girl who knows what she
wants.
Teresa wants another round. NO DEAL. After meeting the mother-in-law... and
son... and Debbie (sorry... Deborah) Gibson... and Corey Feldman... No fool...
Three cases.
18 - $750,000. The 80s icons swear it's not their fault.
14 - Hairspray
5 - It's nerve-wracking... Corey says the 5 stands for 50.... Get the man a
prize.
Eight cases left, three of them with six figures. Two more cases go next round.

Another great deal. We continue on with 2008 and
the Million Dollar Mission next time.
