"Episode 31" - May 8
Last time, Anca Toderic played the
game from a list she made and wound up being offered $299,000...
only to have said list backfire. She ended up selling her case,
worth $50,000, for half that. Will the next dealer be as brave
as she?
We find out as we start fresh with
GARY RIOTTO! Our dealer hasn't slept in a week, as he hopes to
buy an apartment in his hometown of New York and start an
adolescent outreach program.
After hugging Howie and jumping, he
chooses ... well, all he sees are numbers and breasts. At least
he's honest. He goes with the luck of the Irish with #17.
Jenelle, who I don't believe is Irish, delivers said case.

cases. Deal or no deal? "I think in order for me to take the
deal, he'd have to offer a little more than that. No deal!"
He hops during the break, and we
return with five more...
Gary makes his choosing... from
the gallery. "That was fun."

Gary can't make this decision on
his own. We meet Bunny (mom - "No wonder you jump up and down"),
Gary's best friend David from London, and some unidentified
person on the end. They all come to the same conclusion... "No
deal, Gary."
So he shuts the box. "I may be a
nice guy, but we're going to play hard." With that, the Banker
suits up.
Four more cases...
Case 11
(Katie) |
$300 |
Case 4

Gary: "$400."

Howie: "If you knock the
million dollars out..."
Gary: "We shouldn't say

After the break... $400,000 |
Howie just saved a lot of money
on his car insurance. The Banker, on the other hand, saved a lot
of money on his payout.

One more case if he decides against the deal. There is a 2/3
chance that he'll hit a small amount if he says "No deal."
Anthony (his other friend) says to deal. David says no deal.
Bunny points out what happens when the million goes away. The
crowd says "No deal."
Shut that box, Gary. No deal! One
to go.
Case 23 (Aubrie) |
After Gary has
a sitdown...
$750! |
Good vibes pay off. Gary rushes
his savior, while we go to the Banker Phone. Howie takes a
sitdown after hearing it.

There is now a 40% chance that
Gary is sitting on a big amount. Anthony says to take the deal.
Gary figures that even if he does take a million, he'll still
walk out with $90K or $100K. David says one more. Bunny has no
opinion.
"No deal!"
One more case.
"I think 13
goes. This is either going to make it or break it." |
Leyla: "Howie, I'm scared.
You know me and my case."
... "YES!" $10,000, almost
knocking down her case in the process. |
Gary needs another sit. He's
light-headed, dizzy. "Oh my God, we just did that. Answer the
phone!"

Bunny just screams "Yes! Yes!"
There's a 50/50 shot at a big amount, among which are a million.
"But if you pick the million, it goes down the tubes!" Easy for
you to say, Bunny. She says take it. Anthony says take it. David
says take it.
And Gary? He... pushes the
button! Deal for $340,000!
Was it a good idea, though? Anya...
"Oh no." $400. Bank offer: $477,000. Stacey has... the million!
In Gary's case...
A good deal. Can the next player
do even better? We'll find out next time. See you then.
