"Episode 21" -
April 3
Last time, Michael Wallace turned
down a Hummer among other things to end up with $252,000... The
end result, though, saw him sell off a $750,000 case.
Now it's Sheetal Shetty's time to
take on the big money to pay off student loans. She took case 19
and opened 11 cases.
She'll have two hours to see if
she can turn that case into a profit. Oh, and the box from last
week... fixed. Let's get back to what we do best round here.

Case 15 (Lanisha) |

That's huge. If she decides to
brush off the deal, she has to open three more cases. She
brought support in the form of her mom ("She's my little
lunatic."), her best friend Marshall, and her uncle Manoj. He's
good with numbers. "No deal!" And that's what she goes with. No
deal! "Uncle knows best!"
After checking with the models to
see them get ready for showtime, we open three more cases...
Case 24 (Nancy) |
$10,000 |
Case 9 (Patricia) |
"One cent... one cent...
one cent..." One...
Dollar! |
Case 11 (Katie) |
"One cent... one cent...

Good round. Makes for a good
banker offer. "It's a lot of money."

She can't knock off all three of
the big seven next round, but it's a big banker offer... The
loved ones say "No deal"... She goes with that again. She's
NEVER turned down $73,000. She says that she needs $200,000 to
pay off her debts.
We need a break. Then we can open
two more.
Case 12 (Jill) |
She loves things that come
in dozens. $750 |
Case 25
(Sonia) |
"Christmas is cool..."
$200 |
Still no penny, but a happy dance
worthy performance. "Come on banker, do your thing."

Mom says "Take it and run!"
Marshall, "No deal!" Manoj says, "Let's go for it!" She listens
to... the guys. NO DEAL! After a look at past winners, which you
can peruse from our reference page to this show, we have one to
go...
Quick! When was Thanksgiving?
"March 4!" No, that's your birthday, mom.
Case 23 (Aubrie) |
"That is one penny! It's
gotta be." $100,000 |
Not terrible... "Banker's early!"
Nope, he's right on time.

There's a 40 percent chance that
Sheetal has at least $400,000. What would her grandmother do?
She can ask her over the bankerphone... or she can ask her in
person. Turn around, Sheetal.
You can't read her lips, but she
said something that rhymed with "pit." "I would do anything for
my grandchild." She flew from New York. "Me? I would've taken it
and run away." It's an even split in the audience. Sheetal
thinks that the 750K is in her case.... "No deal."
One to go. "Sorry, mom!" Manoj?
"Luck favors the brave! Good decision!"
Case 2 (Stacey) |
Number 2 is the first
failure and the motivator to become number one.... Stacey
doesn't think Sheetal is a lunatic...
$300 |
Primal scream time! Happy dance
time... Casting call time... Banker offer time... "Hurry up."

There's her debt wiped clean.
There's also 50/50 shot at at least $400,000. "I'm too young for
this heart pain!" Manoj wants her to go for it. Mom? "This is a
lunatic child!"
So what's it going to be? Deal or
no deal?
Marshall: "Go one more!"
Sheetal? "That's my whole student
loan right there. But Grandma came a long way from New York." No
deal!
One to open...
Case 20 (Kasie) |
Marshall & Sheetal's lucky
number... After the
break...
$10 |
YES! The bank offer's going to
rocket... The banker is visibly stressed, as his silhouette
displays... Is it enough for a school loan and a coat? Manoj
gets the offer... Grandma gets the offer... Mom gets the
offer... Shock! Marshall gets the offer... Manoj tells the
offer...

$ 400,000 |

$ 750,000 |
There a two-in-three chance of
opening anything but $750,000. The bank offer will be somewhere
in the vicinity of $200K if she knocks that out. That is worst
case scenario. Best case scenario, of course, would be knocking
out the penny. Is $375,000 enough to get out of the game at this
late juncture?
Deal.... or no deal?
Manoj says deal... Mom says
deal... Grandma... "That's enough, Sheetal." Marshall says "Take
the money." Suddenly the audience is like "Deal!", even though
Howie says it's spilt.
She hits it! Deal or $375,000!
"This is the most unbelievable experience ever."
So what would've happened if
Sheetal didn't take the deal? She would've picked 14...
$750,000! And in case 19...
But you'll agree that in the
grand scheme of things, it's more or less a wash. Lindsay S. had
the penny case.
After the deal... Sheetal is
stormed by the models as she heads back to the green room.
"Going into this, I had no money. You know what the ATM's going
to say now? A LOT OF MONEY!"
Back to the game. We start anew
with all 26 cases in play and one new player in the dealer's
podium. That player is... LAURA KARKAU! She's a teacher from
Nashville, TN. She wants to use the prize money to pay off the
house and/or start a family.
Eighteen students in her class,
so Alike is delivering case 18.
So what's in there? Well, what
isn't there?
Case 25

Looks like we're going to the
classroom at Nashville, TN. "No need to worry, Ms. Karkau! We're
here to help! NO DEAL!" There's a one-in-eight shot that she's
sitting on $750,000, but there is a better chance to open the
smaller amounts. "I got my answer." She enlists the audience to
help her get her point across...
I'll save you the cheese and say,
"No deal."

One case to open... Is it a good
time to stop? Timing is absolutely everything in this game.
There's nothing to fall back on. David... is going to be sick.
Deal or no deal?
"It's a DEAL!" Deal for $96,000!
But what would have happened if she kept going, she would've
picked 22... Donna had the penny case, and the bank offer
would've been... $175,000. She would've picked 2 next, $200. The
bank offer then... $210,000. No deal to that? We go to 4, which
had $100. The bank offer then? $400,000. So what the heck was in
Laura's case?
A great deal, that's what. We'll
rest up, do it again on Wednesday. See you then.
