Baby's Gotta Be Easier Than This!
Last time, a battle at the first clue box spilled
over to a battle at ANOTHER clue box. The combatants: Kisha & Jen and Margie &
Luke. Both arrived at the Pit Stop at around the same time, but Kisha & Jen were
awarded first place. This turned into an eruption of emotion as the teams went
at each other. Meanwhile, as expected, Mark & Michael were eliminated.
Some time later, the Race continues from...

FLY TO BEIJING, CHINA!
Make your way almost 1000 miles to the city of
Beijing, China, home of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games! Once you land, make your
way to Liangzi Foot Massage Palace, where you will find your next clue.
You have $40 for this leg of the Race.
Kisha & Jen says that they are over the
incident at the Pit Stop.
One minute later, Victor & Tammy get
going, having been to Beijing for the Olympics. They manage to negotiate
a 5:10 flight to Beijing. One minute later still, here comes Margie &
Luke, focused only on the game and nothing else.
Kisha & Jen run into a bit of a problem
on their way to the airport. Margie & Luke also get the 5:10 flight...
But Kisha & Jen only get "the dumb look".
They pull ahead when they discover that international credit is not
taken directly at the counter. So they have to book elsewhere.
Victor & Tammy try to trade their tickets
for closer seats. Kisha & Jen do the same thing... only without the
language problems. In the end, Victor & Tammy get seats in row 5; Kisha
& Jen... row 8.
Kisha & Jen are the subject of
conversation as we wait for the plane to get here. They don't make small
talk. "It's fake."
All teams are on the 5:10 flight to...
Tammy & Victor are out of the gate... and
into a taxi. And the other teams .... mainly Luke... checks Kisha & Jen
Now it's a taxi race. Cara & Jaime pass

WHO'S FEELING MANIPULATIVE?
You've been racing around the world for 10 legs. You could
use a foot massage.
First, drink a Chinese medicinal tea, then endure a
10-minute foot massage that, while highly powerful and curative, walks a fine
line between pleasure and pain. Once you have finished, drink another cup of tea
to receive your next clue.
If the pain is too intense, you can tap on a chair and say
"Uncle" to stop the massage, but you will also stop the clock and start it again
from the beginning.
Cara hates massages.. but she likes
leading. She's super-ticklish, though.
Kisha & Jen are next. Kisha gets her feet
manipulated. Both start hurtin'... Really bad. Tears bad.
Victor & Tammy arrive, and Tammy gets
into the chair. She's very zen.
Margie & Luke finally arrive, and Margie
sends Luke inside. Just as Cara is finished.
MAKE YOUR WAY TO GUANGCAI NATATORIUM!
Make your way to Guang Cai Ti Yu Gian Bei Men You Yong Guan (Guangcai
Natatorium-Beijing Muxuyuan Sports Technology School) and follow the marked path
to find your next clue.
Kisha finishes, followed by Tammy and
The teams rush to find cabs again, but
will they find a cabbie that knows where the natatorium is? Kisha & Jen
find such a cab. Jaime and Tammy fight over another one.
Jen is not a swimmer, so going to a
natatorium is not going to be pleasurable for her.
Tammy & Victor are the first to find the
SYNC or SWIM?
SYNC: Master the skill of synchronized diving by jumping
off of two three-meter springboards into the pool below. You must touch the
water at the SAME TIME! Once the judges have given you a score of 5, you will
receive your next clue.
SWIM: Change into a legendary Speedo LZR Suit (the same
type worn by Michael Phelps when he won 8 gold medals), then swim 8 lengths of
the pool in a 400-meter relay with each team member alternating between two
lengths and competing against Phelps' world-record time of 4:03.84. You need not
beat the record, but you must complete the swim in order to receive your next
Victor & Tammy can't swim, so they Sync.
Turns out they can't dive either.
Kisha & Jen can't swim either, so they
Cara & Jaime go swimming, as do Margie &
Jen freezes on the board, thinking that
she's going to drown and die. They end up swimming. And the suits..
leave little to the imagination.
It turns out that Luke is an amazing
swimmer. Margie... even better. Turns out that they both tire easily and
earn a respect for the guy who won eight gold medals.
PROTIP for future Racers... anything you
think you can't do, go and learn to do it before you apply.
Cara & Jaime are first to arrive at the
finish, so they're on their way to...
MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE PIT STOP!
Make your way to the North Gate of the Drum Tower of Gulou.
Kisha & Jen are holding on...
literally... to the lap bars at the pool.
Margie & Luke finish up as well, and
forget about the Pit Stop, let's just get this suit off.
Kisha & Jen decide to dive. Jen's fear of
water is beginning to take its toll. Meanwhile, Victor & Tammy are
getting better... but not good enough to continue. They're going
The sisters are held back by Jen's fear
of water. What will they ultimately do? They want to finish strong, so
Kisha suggests going back to the swimming.
Victor & Tammy are done with swimming as
they walk past Kisha & Jen and head to the Pit Stop.
Meanwhile, the other two teams are racing
to the Pit Stop. Victor's leg is beginning to cramp. Back at the pool
with life vests on, Jen finishes the first of two lengths in the pool,
just as Victor's leg starts to cramp severely.
Victor & Tammy eventually get into the
cab and head away.
Kisha & Jen finally complete the Detour
and head to the Pit Stop. But who will be there first?
Will ANYONE get there first? The cabs are
at a deadlock it seems.
DRUM TOWER OF GULOU
Phil is standing by his happy lonesome.
No happy local. Something is up...
Cara & Jaime are first.
"Jaime & Cara... You are the first team
to arrive... but this leg of the Race is not over. You are still racing.
Here's your next clue..."
