The Finale
September 16
Each act has a gift. Each act has a
dream. Each act has a destiny. For one, it will lead them to the Las
Vegas Strip... a headlining act... and one million dollars. So one
question remains... Who's going to take it?
We start the show with the 10 finalists
performing "Don't Leave Me This Way" by Thelma Houston, with each act
doing their own unique thing to the sound of Thelma Houston, who joins
them.
Next... a performance from a former "X
Factor" who had the biggest selling single of 2008... sold 6 million
albums... was nominated for 3 Grammys... and is now coming out with her
second album. The first single off of it is called "Happy"... Here's
Leona Lewis.
Next... a parade of losers... They
thought they were "Simply the Best"... Apparently not. A cadre of
rejects then grace the stage for "Ain't No Stopping Us Now", complete
with shotgun wedding of Piers Morgan and Grandma Lee.
Please stop.
If you think you have what it takes to
join this... elite... brotherhood... go to NBC.com/agt. Just... don't do
what these guys did.
Next is a performance by Cirque du Soleil
of "Banana Shpeel", their own take on vaudeville.
After that, it's time to get down to
business. Remember, you are competing for a headlining show in the
Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas... and $1 million. We see
the journey of the final 10 as well as a few other memorable faces.
Unfortunately, it's time to say goodbye
to FIVE of them.
First on the stage: Hairo Torres and
Barbara Padilla. Both of them gave emotional performances... The first
act in the top 5... BARBARA PADILLA!
Next up, Lawrence Beamen and the Voices
of Glory. Each one had their moments of slickness and coming together.
Joining Barbara in the top 5... THE VOICES OF GLORY!
Next up... The Texas Tenors and Fab Five.
Both were just energetic and superb. Joining Barbara and the Voices in
the top 5... THE TEXAS TENORS!
Fourth up, Kevin Skinner and Drew Stevyns.
Both came onto the stage with a guitar and a dream... but the dream
continues.... for KEVIN SKINNER!
And finally, we have Recycled Percussion
and Grandma Lee. They were all creative. They all got better with time.
Rounding out the top 5... RECYCLED PERCUSSION!
So there are the top 5. We'll get to the
final result in a moment, but first, a judges' retrospective.
Next up, Shakira sings "She Wolf".
Awooooo.
Okay, we have five. There can only be
one. First, though... we pare it down to two.
In 5th Place... The Voices of Glory.
In 4th Place... The Texas Tenors...
In 3rd Place... Recycled Percussion.
That leaves Kevin Skinner and Barbara
Padilla to fight it out for the title. Piers is calling this the dream
playoff for this show.
Before we get to the final result, we get
to "Summer Nights" by Rascal Flatts...
... and speaking of summer nights, we
have the lady whose story captivated the world and reignited this
particular series... the winner of "Britain's Got Talent", making her
first performance in America... singing "Wild Horses", Susan Boyle.
And now, finally, the Million Dollar
Moment. It's a moment... about 115 minutes in the making. Someone's life
is about to change forever. Kevin Skinner... Barbara Padilla... It's
been a great journey. Thank you both. This is not an end for either of
you, but a beginning.
The best of luck to both of you... Nick
Cannon, it is yours...
"America has voted. The winner of the $1
million and the headline show in Las Vegas.. is...
...
...
...
...
KEVIN SKINNER!"
What's he going to do tomorrow? "I'll
figure it out later." He's ready for the show. He'll do his best.
And that'll do it for another season of
AGT. Season 5 will be on tap next summer. Until then, remember, that
each of us has a dream and a talent, and it is those dreams and talents
that make life on earth all the sweeter.
Thanks for following us through the
journey, and until next season for Gordon and the entire GSNN team, I'm
Chico Alexander saying... Mazel Hoff.
