Semifinals Round 1 Results
August 5

Last time, the first of the top 48 performed for your votes. Now for five acts, the adventure continues as we get closer to the Million Dollar Act... Nick says that the votes are close and that anything can happen tonight. We'll be the judge of that.

We'll also have performances from season 2 winner Terry Fator and a woman who a) has a new album coming out and b) happens to be currently shagging the host, Mariah Carey.

But first, some unfinished business... Piers is adamant that Acrodunk missed that last shot. They're taking a bet on it... Roll tape... And they made it. Piers... LOSES. "The ball went in the hole, and now you in the hole."

First, Acrodunk and Breaksk8. Sharon thought both acts were superb. Going to the semis is... ACRODUNK!

One down, four to go. Next to the stage... season 2's champion and the biggest success story to come from this or any other reality game show, with a $100 million contract and a stage on the Vegas strip, it's TERRY FATOR... and his cast of thousands.

Lake Houston Dance... Drew Thomas Magic... and Manuela Horn... They're the next three on stage. Only one of these three will continue on to the next round. David thought Lake Houston Dance was adorable. Sharon thought that Drew was fantastic. Manuela... was buzzed. Going to the next round... is... not Lake Houston Dance.... OR Manuela. DREW THOMAS MAGIC will return.

So we have half of the national vote in. And now we continue on with Kevin Skinner... and Mosaic. To variant degrees, both acts killed according to the judges. But which one got your vote? Going to the semis... is... KEVIN SKINNER! No repeat tonight, folks.

Before we get to the final two slots tonight, we've got a little treat for ... well, at least one person in the room. Performing her new single "Obssessed," it's Mariah Carey! And seriously, Nick... No more adjectives for you.

Next up to face their fate is the fun Diva League, the funny Grandma Lee, and the incoherent Platt Brothers. Next act going home is... the Platt Brothers. Going on to face the other qualifiers tonight... GRANDMA LEE!

That leaves only Arcadian Broad and Thia Megia, the next two high vote getters. One of them will be going on to the semis on the backs of the judges...

Piers votes for Thia.

Sharon votes for Arcadian.

Which means it's going to come down to the Hoff... David votes for... ARCADIAN BROAD!
