DAY 14 - REDEMPTION DUEL: A NUMBERS GAME

Redemption Island Arena awaits the twelve remaining Survivors...and John and Brad enter with Laura M...much to the shock of daughter Ciera. Ciera had the feeling her mum would be the one voted out. Laura M.'s not surprised, as they are one. Uncle Jeff asks Ciera if she wants to swap...but Laura M. shuts her down immediately, confident she can get back in.

For today's Duel (a rehash from Redemption Island), the Duelists race across a balance beam to collect bags of numbered tiles. Slip off beam, start over. Take the bag, bring it to the end of the beam, open it and then put the tiles in order in a 10x10 grid. then go back for the next bag. First two to put all 100 in order stay around, while the other is sent home in 15th place. And, of course, the 3I clue is given to the winner to give to whoever.

"Survivors, ready....GO!!"

Laura undoes her first 10-tile bag quickly and gets to work on it, John in second, Brad in third. Laura numbers 1 to 10 and heads back for the next bag. John heads back for his second...while Brad must be piss-lousy with numbers and lags behind. Next bag has #11 though #30 and Laura gets it quick. John nearly falls off (and later does) as Laura starts on her tiles...and only THEN does Brad finish the Sesame Street portion of the puzzle.

John drops the second bag (and must stay on the beam to retrieve it) and then trips at the end of the beam, helping Brad pass him. But Laura "laps" them both, opening her 30-piece bag before the men finsh their SECOND. John is a few seconds ahead as they go back for the third. And no sooner do they start counting to 60...than Laura GETS to 60 and goes back for the final 40-piece bag!

John and Brad remain seconds apart as Laura digs into the bag with #61 to #100. Laura at 90...John at 75...Brad at 68...Laura at 100! LAURA M. STAYS ALIVE! She said she "got this" and "got it" she did!

But which guy will join her back on RI? John at 90...Brad at 87...John at 95...Brad at 93...#100! JOHN STAYS ALIVE!!

Two weeks in and Emperor Brad has been ousted! Brad says he'd rather be playing football...and tells Monica, "“I came on here as a shield. Through my fault, or no fault of my own, I probably became an anchor. You’re free." After a hug from Monica, Brad takes his red Buff(TM) and tosses it in the urn. The former football is going to the showers...and then to talk to Pavrati on the After Show.

So...who gets the 3I clue THIS time (to burn or whatever)? Laura M., after some thought, gives it to Vytas...solely because it's a "target". Vytas takes it, follows Uncle Jeff back down the steps and, like Monica beforehand, tosses it in the urn. Seems everyone would rather avoid being a target than hunt for Immunity from BEING said target. Ah, well...back to RI, back to their beaches...

...but WAIT a minute! Unlce Jeff says those infamous words: "Drop your Buffs!"

Yeah, yeah, yeah...we're doing the Survivor Shuffle!

So...it is no longer Vets vs. Loved Ones. Uncle Jeff mounts the stairs with covered Buffs in yellow tubes. Tyson asks for the last one, wanting "fate" to decide. Everyone else takes one, Tyson gets the last one. And, when the Buffs are removed from the tubes, the new Tribes are as follows:

So not only are Loved Ones and Vets co-mingled...but the new Tribes are EVEN again! It's a whole new game!

(Great...Chico gets "Vault 69" and I get "Vault 68". Read the Fallout wiki if you don't get it.)

Ciera thinks being the only XX-chromosone could be good or bad. Katie's glad to WITH her mom instead of AGAINST her. And Vytas? He considers himself a "ladies man" so...he thinks he'll be fine.

OK, NOW back to the beaches.)

AFTERNOON 14: MAKE YOURSELVES AT HOME...WHETHER WE WANT IT OR NOT

Gervase's first comment is that Tadhana Beach is WAY cooler than Galang Beach. Caleb is wary, though; he's no longer a "swing vote" and that it's three Vets vs. three Loved Ones in the Tribe. The ex-Galangs started asking about Tadhana over the last 13 days (per paln, according to Gervase) and the Loved Ones gave and gave. They even gave what little bits of the clues to the 3I they knew...which Tyson felt was stupid.

What bugs Hayden is that the Vets are now rummaging through what was left of their steak dinner from last night and chomping away. Tyson admits that's a "social faux pas"...but that's his goal; to drain Tadhana dry until the Merge...WHILE doing work to not come off as a "lazy guy". But...why would Tyson ANNOUNCE to the Tribe that he would "hit that food like a one-man wrecking ball"? Huh...

Later, Tyson puts ANOTHER ploy into action: he acts (in a passive-aggresive way) like Aras is being bossy. Every chance he could get to "apologize" for Aras' behavior is, to him, a chance to "shift the frame" and stay around until Day 39.

DAY 15...

Again, nuthin'...

DAY 16 - REWARD/IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: BUOY OH BUOY

Challenge Beach...and a BRAND NEW CHALLENGE! (About TIME!) Tadhana reluctantly gives back Mr. Immuni-Ugly to Unjcle Jeff and gives the rundown:

Two members at a time, the Tribes will swim out and dive down to a cage at the sea bottom. There, they will untie a gate and bring a fish trap from the cage before swimming back to let the next pair go. Once all three traps are collected, two will open the traps and use the twenty pieces inside to solve a vertical puzzle (two Koi fish surrounding a yin-yang symbol). First Tribe to do that is Immune from Tribal Council tonight. PLUS, the winning Tribe will have a picnic on Uncle Jeff: baskets and mats, fruits and veggies, cold cuts and bread, cheeses and sodas, condiments and brownies. No sit-outs this time; as stated, the Tribes are equal again.

"Survivors, ready....GO!!"

First pairs are Aras/Gervase for Tadhana and Tina/Laura B. for Galang. And Gervase's swimming has improved ENORMOUSLY. Down the boys go to untie the gate, with the girls behind by about ten seconds. Aras grabs the trap and swims back. Tina and Laura releases the gate...but then swims back WITHOUT the TRAP! They can't hear Uncle Jeff stating the obvious...nor their other Tribemates. When they get out of the water...they realize their mistake and, as the second Tadhana duo (Tyson/Caleb), start to swim back.

At this point it seems moot to continue the play-by-play. Tadhana get their second trap up as Vytas and Monica head out...and, as they swim back, Hayden and Ciera are swimming back with their third. As Kat and Katie look for #3, Tadhana starts to undo their traps.

Now the question is: will Tadhana blow yet ANOTHER big lead over a puzzle? The twenty slats are removed by Aras and Tyson and they get to solving. They seem half-done when Galang finally get their third trap back and allowing Tina and Monica to work on it. With work almost completed...Tyson and Aras realize their puzzle's a bit off. Ut oh...not a good thing to realize when against the Puzzle Master in Tina. And, sure enough, she gets Galang neck-and-neck with Tadhana.

Tina and Monica start screaming that they solved the puzzle. Uncle Jeff looks...and GALANG DOES NOT WINS IMMUNITY AND REWARD!!! The tails on the fish are off!! As the girls scramble to find and correct the mistake, the guys scramble to catch up!

Galang cheers again to have solved it...but, again, Uncle Jeff shoots them down!

Tyson and Aras think they have it...and they DO! TADHANA WINS IMMUNITY AND REWARD!!!

Uncle Jeff syas it best: "Wow!" After being decimated time and again, the crimson Tribe takes back Mr. Immuni-Ugly for the second straight time consecutively in a row. And they also get to have a nice picnic of sammiches, fruits, veggies and brwonies. Yum-yum.

TRIBAL COUNCIL: PUTTING THE KAT OUT

Vytas managed to charm his way past the ladies' alliance and get Kat kicked to Redemption Island. Trust was a problem...and Kat's begging doesn't help. It was unanimous. See ya at the Duel, babe.
