Last week, 15 of America's
best and brightest teachers came together to play on our
Teachers' Tournament. Of those, nine survive to play
this week - five game winners and four wild-cards. Now
only three teachers - two wild cards and automatic
qualifier John Pearson - have a shot at $100,000 and a
spot in the next Tournament of Champions.
What challenges await these educators? How will they
rise to meet them? The answers to these questions could
be worth $100,000 for the winner, $50,000 for the first
runner-up, and $25,000 for the second runner-up in a
standard two-match affair.
You're 30 minutes away
from a big money moment.

Daily Double: $800 The Korean War.
Mary Beth has $1800, $600 on Becky. She bets $800 on this: "War's End Near" said
a jubilant US headline on the capture of this metropolis October 19, 1950. "What
is Saigon?" No, it was Pyongyang, leaving her with $1000.

Daily Double #1: $1600
Anatomy. Earning an almost-unanswered $8800, John
now leads with $13,200 over Becky's $4400. He bets
$3000 on this: your tear glands are an example of
this type of gland that secretes fluid through a
duct & not directly into the bloodstream. "What is
an exocrine gland?" That... would've been
right, but sebaceous gland leaves him with $10,200.
Video Daily Double #2: $800 The
Guggenheim Museum. Mary Beth has $4000 to John's $18,200. She needs to make a
move to stand a chance. She bets $2000. Here's Jimmy. "Jean Arp turned to
abstraction as a founding member of this movement that rejected traditional
values & embraced chance, even in how its name was supposed chosen randomly from
the dictionary." "What is dada?" RIGHT for $6000!
