Preliminaries: Baxter/Moriarity/Vazquez
November 11
The newest in Jeopardy!'s line of great challenges is coming around again, with fifteen of America's greatest teachers being honored by coming to play the great American quiz show of record. At stake, $100,000 and a shot at $250,000 later on in the next Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions.

What challenges await these educators? How will they rise to meet them? The answers to these questions could be worth $100,000 for the winner, $50,000 for the first runner-up, and $25,000 for the second runner-up. Semifinalists are guaranteed $10,000, while everyone who competes gets $5000. Any and all prizes depend on how far up a player moved in the standings.

And it all starts, wait for it..... RIGHT NOW!

Daily Double: $1000 State Capitals. Anne has $3800 to Katie's $5600. Rico is on $2000. She... is GOING FOR IT! The clue: French-Canadian trappers named it for the tree-lined river that provided relief for those crossing the Snake River plain. "What is Boise?" AT THE LAST SECOND DOUBLER! She's up to $7600.

Video Daily Double #1: $1600 Old Paint. Katie and Anne are tied at $8800 to Rico's $5800. Katie wagers... $3000 on this: here's a 1640s self-portrait by this Flemish man. Note the beard. "Who is Van Dyke?" RIGHT for $11,800!

Daily Double #2: $1200 It's All Politics. Katie sticks with a $3000 wager on her $12,600. The clue: in the late 1780s, fearing a strong central government, the anti-these opposed the adoption of the Constitution. "What are the Anti-Federalists?" That would've been right, but "Anti-Ratifiers" dropped her to $9600, still leading.
