Preliminaries: Harris/Lobo/Harper
April 15

Last time on the Million Dollar Celebrity Invitational, Cheech Marin lit up the board and smoked Anderson Cooper and Aisha Tyler to earn slot #7 alongside  Charles Shaughnessy, Michael McKean, Andy Richter, Jane Kaczmarek, Harry Shearer, Pat Sajak. Today, part 1 of a doubleheader, where the eighth position is on offer. By the end of the week, we'll have our final May bracket as we get closer to the top prize of $1 million for the charity of his or her choice.

The players who win these two games (and the two to follow) will donate at least $50,000 to their charity. The runners-up will take away $25,000. Any and all monies will be determined by how far up the ladder a player goes.

Neil Patrick Harris
"How I Met Your Mother"

Daily Double #1: $1200 Stag Films. Neil is leading this game by $3200 against Rebecca. Hill enjoyed a brief sojourn into the red before going back to zero. Neil bets two thou on this: in this 1978 film Robert De Niro says, "One shot it what it's all about." "What is 'Deer Hunter'?" Correct for $13,600.

Daily Double #2: $1600 In the Beginning. Neil now leads Rebecca by $5200, while Hill is still at nil. Neil goes for $600 on this: this 5-letter word is from the French & means "to make one's first appearance". "What is debut?" That... costs Neil $600, as he blanks out.

At the end of Double Jeopardy!... Hill's got some money!

$13,000 $8,400 $2,000
Neil Rebecca Hill

J-Archive.com wants you to crush.

- Hill has only one option.... bet it all and HOPE that Neil and Rebecca do something really REALLY dumb.
- Rebecca wins if she bets at least $4601 and is correct, forcing Neil to bet to win.
- Neil wins if he bets $3801, but no more than $8999, and is correct.

Final Jeopardy! category: BEATLES SONGS

THE TITLE OF THIS BEATLES SONG IS A YORUBA PHRASE THAT MEANS "LIFE GOES ON"

Correct response: what is "Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da"?

Hill's response: What is Hey Jude? WRONG. Wager: $2000. Total: $0.
Rebecca's response: what Se La Vi? WRONG. Wager: $4000. Total: $4400.
Neil's response: what is Let It Be? WRONG. Wager: $4000. Total: $9000.

SEMI-FINALIST: Neil Patrick Harris

Once Neil had the lead, there was no way that he was going to let go of it. It's a good quality for a champion to have, but can he make it last during the semis? Only time will tell.

Three new stars TOMORROW.
