Preliminaries: Bowen/Kaczmarek/Quivers
November 19

Last time on the Million Dollar Celebrity Invitational, Michael McKean completely went all over his two opponents, Soledad O'Brien and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. As a result, he wins $50,000 for the International Myeloma Foundation and joins Andy Richter in the semifinal in May.

Today, and every third Thursday of every month, another winner will be crowed and will move one step closer to winning the top prize of $1 million for the charity of his or her choice.

The player who wins this game (and the six to follow) will donate at least $50,000 to their charity. The runners-up will take away $25,000. Any and all monies will be determined by how far up the ladder a player goes.

This month's stars are...

Julie Bowen
"Modern Family"
Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research
Jane Kaczmarek
"Raising the Bar"
Clothes Off Our Back
Robin Quivers
"The Howard Stern Radio Show"
Seed School of Maryland

Daily Double goes unclaimed. At the end of the Jeopardy! round...

$6,600 $5,200 $1,000
Julie Jane Robin

Double Jeopardy! categories:

WHAT'S
OPERA, DOC?
JULIE &
JULIA
LET'S MAKE
A WISH
UN-OUTSOURCEABLE SERIOUS
RADIO
THE "GREEN"
ROOM

Daily Double #1: $1600 Un-Outsourceable. Julie has $10,200 to Jane's $6000 and Robin's $4200. Julie bets half, or $5100, on this: this type of healer who adjusts & aligns you based on a system developed in 1895. "What is a chiropractor?" Correct for $15,300!

Daily Double #2: $1200 What's Opera, Doc? Jane's not happy, because she has to wager any or all of her $9200 against Robin's $4200 and Julie's $16,100. She bets $5000 on this: Marcello fetches a doctor, but Mimi still dies, leaving Rodolfo heartbroken at the end of this opera. "What is 'La Boheme'?" Correct for $14,200!

At the end of Double Jeopardy!...

$15,300 $23,400 $4,200
Julie Jane Robin

Finally, an interesting celebrity scenario. J-Archive.com calls this a crush.

- Robin wins if... Julie and Jane bet against each other and lose, while Robin bets nothing.
- Julie wins if... she bets $8101 and is right (forcing Jane to wager to win) or if she bets $6899 and is wrong on a triple stumper.
- Jane wins if... she bets $7201 and is right.

Final Jeopardy! category: FILM PRODUCERS

HIS WORK OF THE 1930s & '40s IS SO ASSOCIATED WITH SENTIMENTALITY THAT HIS NAME IS OFTEN COMBINED WITH "CORN"

Correct response: who is Frank Capra?

Robin's response: who is Pon? WRONG. Wager: $4199. Total: $1.
Julie's response: who is Ball? WRONG. Wager: $15,300. Total: $0.
Jane's response: who is Frank Capra? CORRECT. Wager doesn't matter.

SEMI-FINALIST: Jane Kaczmarek

This match was the closest of the three so far. It could've gone either way, but Jane knew what she had to do, and thanks to a late-round rally, she'll have a chance to do it again in May.

Three new stars next month, December 17.
