Last month, millions of
Americans watched as four pop titans whittled their
teams to the final 12. Now each of them are going to go
to battle, and with the Steal option in play, it's still
anyone's game. But with one Steal left, Gwen has to pick
very carefully. This is the finale of the Battle Rounds!
Artists...for the last time... PREPARE FOR BATTLE! #TEAMPHARRELL: Brittany Butler vs. Ricky Manning It's a classic pairing: classically trained jazz singer at Berklee vs. street performer from the school of hard knocks. Both can relate to their selection, George Benson's "On Broadway". Gwen thought that both of the singers had strong personalities. Adam says that he's seen this from Brittany before. Ricky improved. Blake thought that both were very knowledgeable, especially Brittany. PHARRELL PICKS: Ricky Manning. Gwen still has a steal. Will she use it to save Brittany? No, and she's taking it hard. But with that, Team Pharrell is done with the Battles. #TEAMBLAKE: Kensington Moore vs. Reagan James Kensington relocated to Nashville from Kentucky, while Reagan hoped to break out from the mold of "being from the same town as Kelly Clarkson". Both of the pop singers will be singing "Team" by Lorde. A propos. But after the first rehearsal, Kensington fell ill, leaving Reagan to work with Blake & LBT herself... and Kimberly of LBT taking her place. After a day of recovery, she's back in the fight. But will she last? Pharrell... confused. Gwen... also confused. Adam... says Kensington knows how to cut, while Reagan knows how to work a crowd, albeit with a lyric flub. BLAKE PICKS: Reagan James. Someone mentioned that Kensington should go to Gwen right now.... yeah, that's not gonna happen. FAST FORWARD TIME! Fernanda Bosch vs. Alison
Bray (Team Blake). Winner: ALISON Leading to this. Winner goes to Team Adam. Loser goes to Team Gwen. #TEAMADAM: Beth Spangler vs. Mia Pfirrman Beth is a singing X-ray technician who gets her drive from her dad. Mia is a music student who hopes to follow in the family business. We have raw talent versus raw talent. The equalizer: "I Turn To You" by Christina Aguilera (originally done by All-4-One). (C-Note: having sung this, I can attest to the level of challenge required. That said, Adam is a right bastard for doing this). The challenge here... not being Christina. Blake loves Mia's powerful, yet raspy voice. Beth says that she's got some country in her. Pharrell has seen potential in both. He picks Beth. Gwen thought that the song was suited for Mia. Same with Gwen. Adam is picking for TWO teams with this pick... ADAM PICKS: Mia Pfirrman. And Gwen makes it official with the steal.... Eventually.
