The Beauty in a Merge
March 28

Colton went down, but not in the way that he was expecting, as a case of appendicitis took him out of the game. As a result, the 12 castaways that remain are now officially one tribe. But they're far from one happy family, because now it's every man for themselves.

NIGHT 17: EAT YOUR FOOD AND DRANK YOUR DRANK

Alicia thinks that Christina thinks that she's still in the game. Meanwhile, she thinks that Colton leaving really screwed her game over. Now it's about to start all over.

And of course, the tribe returns to a veritable banquet.

NIGHT 18: AND THEY CALLED IT... TIKIANO.

A young coconut, lightly caramelized, is breakfast. Helps to have a chef on the island. Jonas. Tarzan thought it was community breakfast. Obviously not, and he's slowly becoming a burden to the rest of the tribe. Jay thinks that Manono has the numbers.

... six men... six women...

Tarzan frets that it'll be the guys against the girls... Not so. But Tarzan has an ace: Alicia. If the guys stick together and use Alicia, it'll be the men at the end. Michael doesn't trust any of the guys... Least of all Tarzan. I mean, would YOU trust Tarzan if the shoe was on the other...

R-CHALLENGE: CAN YOU DIG IT? (for pizza, beer, and a secret message)

The castaways are split into two teams. One at a time, four members of each team would race through an obstacle course of digging and crossing underneath a log and crawling under a wooden rack. They must then dig up a bag of puzzle pieces buried in the sand and race back through the obstacle course. Once all four bags are retrieved, the two remaining team members use the pieces to assemble a puzzle of a turtle. The first team to assemble their puzzle wins.

It's Alicia/Jay/Sabrina/Chelsea/Christina/Troyzan vs. Leif/Kat/Mike/Kim/Jonas/Tarzan for pizza and beer.

WINNERS... Alicia, Jay, Sabrina, et al!

Everyone's eaten... everyone's drunk. Now there's a note. It says to open when you finish eating before you get back to camp. Wonder what's inside...

Immunity is the only way to guarantee your safety in this game.
As part of your reward for winning today's challenge, only you 6 will know that there is yet another Idol hidden back at camp.
As always it is up to you whether or not you want to tell anyone else this secret.

Chelsea's biggest concern, someone on Manono finding the idol going into the next vote.

Back at camp, Leif tries to soak up his loss. Jonas and Mike talk about Tarzan's plan... which Jonas isn't even aware of. "He's a loose cannon. He does whatever we want. We can't have that." Jonas tells Tarzan that the time for this sort of talk is BEFORE the vote, not two days before, and then Loose Cannon goes loose.... ultimate deciding to "drop out of the tribe". Or at least quit Jonas. Tarzan says that he's willing to fall on the sword just to be rid of Jonas.

DAY 19: IDOL TASKS

Troyzan's the first up, and he decides that he's gotta start looking for the Idol before anyone else can get a chance.

And... after a few misses....  JACKPOT! The early bird gets the Idol.

I-CHALLENGE: BALL BALANCE

Stand on a small wooden log while balancing a ball on a wooden disk. At regular intervals, a ball would be added until the castaway is balancing three balls. If a ball drops... or if you drop... you're out. Last one standing wins.

First one to lose balance... Tarzan, stepping off the perch. Next ball is on... And Christina is out, followed by Michael, Chelsea, and Kim. That's another ball... And the final round is on. Alicia's out, and so are Jay, Jonas, Sabrina, Leif, and Kat.

CHALLENGE, TROYZAN!

So he has individual AND hidden immunity and is holding all of the cards.

Chelsea suggests sticking to the post-switch Salani Alliance, putting Manono's strongest on blast. Jonas could be the first one gone. We all hate to vote the chef out, we really really do, but this move gives Kim TWO options: the old Salanis and the new Salanis. Troyzan sees him as a threat, but at the same time, it's like, "Why now?"

Jonas immediately thinks that he's out of the loop and going home. "I'm like the least threatening guy here." He's wondering why him instead of Mike?

Tarzan and Jonas take a moment to bury the hatchet before Tribal, with Jonas earning a lot more of Tarzan's respect. The last minute scramble results in Kat being brought up for elimination. It's a last-ditch move, but will it work?

Meanwhile, Tarzan doesn't know the difference between dirt and Hershey squirts. This is relevant. Chelsea is doing her laundry, and Tarzan throws HIS into the pot with hers. Umm... first of all... EW?! Second of all... you don't mix your laundry with a woman's laundry. That's just bad ju-ju. Yeah, now Chelsea wants Tarzan to go home. I can totally understand that. She goes to the post Salani Alliance... and Jay says that he hates to see dead weight. But any plan broken can mean chaos.

NIGHT 20: TRIBAL COUNCIL

It's inevitable that people are now thinking about who they want to sit next to in the final. Jonas makes a veiled reference to himself being a target. Mike picks up on it. And Jonas... decides that he's voting for Mike tonight. Meanwhile Tarzan says he's taking back his respect. Jonas counters that the guys don't have the votes to eliminate Kat. "What'd I do?" You opened your mouth, for one.

Tarzan says that, hey, while we're throwing everyone under the bus, let's vote Jonas out! Chelsea says that more people have issues with Tarzan than anyone else. Sabrina agrees. But she's had zero issues with Jonas. Tarzan says he's better suited for being the captain in the operating room. So everyone likes the straw that stirs the drink, but will Tarzan bring out the worst in him enough to get people to vote his way?

Chelsea makes another veiled defense of Jonas. Tarzan... senses that everyone's fallen apart, and if they vote him out tonight, it's fine.

Jonas: MIKE
Tarzan: JONAS

Rest of the votes fall thusly...

Leif: MIKE

The rest.... are for Jonas. By a count of 10 to 2, Jonas... THE TRIBE HAS SPOKEN. "Good luck with that food situation." Enjoy your seat on the Jury, brother. Voting out someone who's likeable and a provider only means one thing... NO ONE is safe.
