Venice Final 2
July 29

We have 120 athletes. Now it's time to make your final 100 who will challenge the mountain for fame, glory and $500,000. First stop is Venice. Last night on G4, Dustin Rocho and David Campbell punched their tickets to Mount Midoriyama. Brent Steffensen, Noah Kaufmann, and Jessie Graff await their shot at the course to try and join them. The Venice Finals continue on the road to Mt. Midoriyama and an AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR!

VENICE, CA
Venice Beach Boardwalk

Joining the qualifier course are three new obstacles...

- QUINTUPLE STEPS
- FRAME SLIDER
- DOMINO HILL
- FLOATING CHAINS.
- TRAPEZE SWING: Two bar swings.
- WARPED WALL
- SALMON LADDER: One rung, five planks.
- ROPE MAZE: Maneuver your rope through the steel maze above
- CLIFFHANGER: The classic configuration with three separate ledges
- SPIDER CLIMB: Wedge yourself inside and climb three stories to finish the course.

Thirty will run the course. Only the top 15 will advance to the Final Sasuke. Remember, win-and-in is still in play. Hit the buzzer, go to Vegas.

First up tonight...

- Lance Pekus (26; Salmon, ID; rancher): FAIL Cliffhanger
- Jessie Graff (28; Santa Monica, CA; stuntwoman): This is it. History in the making. The first woman to run the Final Course. FAIL Warped Wall
- Noah Kaufman (38; South Lake Tahoe, NV; ER physician): After helping out a fellow competitor, he took to the course. FAIL Salmon Ladder
- Andrew Douglas (23; San Diego; missionary): FAIL Quint Steps. SHOCKER!

Another five fail to reach the finish line. Brian Kretsch & Justin Walcker fail at the Cliffhanger, while the others drop out at the Salmon Ladder.

- James Sclar (29; Santa Cruz, CA; culinary student): FAIL Spider Climb with a wedge move... He's with the medic on his shoulder.

After the break... his arm is in a sling. He is assured of a spot in the National Final. But at what cost?

- John "JB" Douglas (26; Rohnert Park, CA; gymnastic instructor): COMPLETE! (3:52.10) He's going to Mt. Midoriyama!

James Eggiman FAILED at the Spider Climb INCHES from the top.

- Jonathan Roberson (22; Rowland Heights, CA; recent college graduate): FAIL Rope Maze
- James McGrath (26; Seattle; personal trainer): COMPLETE! (3:14.40). The Beast Is Loose!

And now, the moment we've all been waiting for.. The run of the night...

- Brent Steffensen (32; Sandy, UT; stuntman): FAIL Salmon Ladder. I DON'T BELIEVE IT! Brent Steffensen, the man who made it farther than any American has ever made it on Mount Midoriyama is DONE!

... For now. Remember, 40 slots go to invites from the producers. So keep your phone handy.

Meanwhile, we congratulate THESE 15 athletes for earning their trip to Las Vegas.
