Baltimore Qualifier 1
July 7

Brent Steffensen made a return campaign to the final American Sasuke course, and he will not be alone in Venice Beach when it comes time to choose a team. A bevy of ANW All-Stars and the first female to make the cut will be joining him. We'll see how they do later on, but tonight, we move the search for America's ultimate athlete to Baltimore.

BALTIMORE
Inner Harbor

This course features a number of new obstacles.... FOUR have not been seen on American Ninja Warriors

- QUINTUPLE STEPS: five steps, seven feet between each one.
- DOWNHILL JUMP: one slide on the ramp, one swing to the platform.
- PRISM TILT: a suspended prism.. that tilts.
- SWING JUMP: swing to a cargo net and maneuver to the landing.
- CIRCLE CROSS: swing across rings and ropes.
- WARPED WALL: Fourteen feet, three tries.

As a reminder, anyone who finishes the qualifier moves on to the regional final and move one step closer to the American Sasuke course in Las Vegas. If at least 30 do not complete, the remaining spots go to the fastest and the furthest.

First up...

- Brendan Kelly (27; Lexington, KY; college student) - injured after the Downhill Jump... FAIL Swing Jump (by a TOE).
- Beth Horn (39; Chicago; personal trainer) - If you're a fan of "American Gladiators", you remember her as "Venom" on the revival. FAIL Quintuple Steps.
- Junyong Pak (34; Beverly, MA; mechanical engineer) - FAIL Swing Jump

Nine athletes later... NO ONE has conquered the Swing Jump yet.

- Styves Exantus (29; Laurel, MD; marketing & events specialist and former Marine) - He's a hometown hero.... FAIL Swing Jump
- Jon Stapleton (42; Southport, CT; investment banker and family man) - FAIL Prism Tilt
- Patrick Hall (36; Orchard Park, NY; personal trainer) - Clean off of steroids for seven years. FAIL Prism Tilt
- Marc Namie (34; Hopkinsville, KY; flight instructor) - COMPLETE! (#1)

Two more conquer the course, Travis Weinand and Adam Grossman.

- Melanie Hunt (25; Washington, DC; English teacher) - Last year, she failed the Log Grip. This year... she FAILS the Downhill Jump.

Next, an all-star and his brother.

- Chris Wilczewski (23; Mount Laurel, NJ; gym owner) - FAIL Circle Cross. Brother Brian will run later.

Meanwhile, Dan Polizzi and two others join the three that crossed the finish line.

- Brian Wilczewski (21; Mount Laurel, NJ; engineering student and Chris' brother) - COMPLETE! (#7). And the Wilczewskis will be represented after all in the finals.

Seven more athletes later... and three of them, including Dan "Hot Dog" Moschella and Justin Conway. Last up... the world's greatest freerunner...

- Tim "Livewire" Shieff (25; Barking, CT; freerunner) - COMPLETE! (#12) Could the American Ninja Warrior be a BRIT?!
