Nationals
Round of 3: Hip-Hop Nation & Last Chance Challenge
April 1
Last week, four crews took on the
challenge of making magic on the ABDC stage. Three of them turned a few
tricks, making Jungle Boogie disappear. Now it's the final showcase for
the remaining three. One of them will be named America's Best Dance Crew
next week, but first, they get one more shot for your votes.
HIP HOP NATION CHALLENGE
First up, the result of the vote. One of
these crews will compete in the final stage. That crew is...
...
...with the most viewer votes....
...
BLUEPRINT CRU! They're going to the
Final! But first, they're going to battle... The task, rock styles
from the East, the South, AND the West, as defined by three former ABDC
contestants, Riquel from season 4 champs We Are Heroes, Mitch from
Supreme Soul, and Porche from Beat Ya Feet Kings. All three crews will
get the same DVD with the New Orleans Bounce from the South, Baltimore
House from the East, and Turfin' from the West. All three will perform
to a Hip-Hop Nation master mix. This is for all the money.
First, Blueprint has to master all three
dances, as they don't really exist in Francophone Canada.
What they say: Omarion
thinks that they broke out of their comfort zone about being so
structured and just went "grimy" with it. JC says that the group has a
lot of power and speed. He didn't really like the Baltimore section.
Mama said that they were cute, but a little bit humorous.
SUDDEN DEATH
Poreotix is up first. They think they
have the hang of it, but can they make it their own? Unfortunately, they
have a case of ABD... Asian Booty Disease. No junk in their trunk...
What they say: JC "kinda" covered it.
They handled their business. Stylewise, turfin' was their strong point,
but the Baltimore House section was lost. Omarion was "waiting for this
the whole damn season." Lil Mama says that this was a "smooth criminal
performance", bringing athleticism, robotics, and choreography. It was
all fluid and clean.
Finally, it's all on Hype 5-0. Allen has
a special motivation for being in the competition, his brother who
passed on in 2003 in a car crash. Meanwhile, no one can nail the
Baltimore House. Can they break into the house and steal the final spot
in the Final?
What they say: Mama saw a lot of
everything. Omarion saw it as a "self-check". JC was pleasantly
surprised.
Quick aside.... How many goofs on the
other crews did they MAKE?
Island Hip-hoppers... and California
robots... One of them will join the Canadian kick-masters in the last
chance challenge. Which one will it be?
Joining Blueprint in the Last Chance
Challenge...
...
...
for $100,000...
...
...
and the title...
...
is...
...
POREOTIX! So close but so what for Hype
5-0, as they are forced to watch their banner fall tonight.
THE LAST CHANCE
Welcome to the final battle... It's
sickest routine versus sickest routine. Best versus best. East versus
West. America versus Canada. Providing the soundtrack... Swizz Beatz.
First up, Blueprint. They want power,
quick beats, and a killer stage show. They're calling this one... "Come
to Life".
Next with their closing arguments are
Poreotix. They want to feel like a video game. They get tempo changes
and drums. The final play of the season is called "Tetreotix".
The battle lines have been drawn. The
crews have gone as far as they can go on their own power. Next week, one
of these crews, either Blueprint or Poreotix, will be named America's
Best Dance Crew. Will Blueprint finally put the East Coast on the map
and bring the title to the Great White North, or will the streak remain
unbroken by the robotics of Poreotix?
One title... Now... only TWO crews. The
search for America's Best Dance Crew... is about to end.
