Episode 16.7
October 22

Gordon: I'd vote for them
Chico: Me too.
Jason: Me too
Don: If I was American, so would I.
Chico: Welcome back. Chico, Gordon, Block, and Doughnut on the WLTI... and last week, we had a lot of names dropped for possible fall of 08. Because the fall of 07... wasn't really that much of a windfall. But I want to know which ones you'd watch. So I'm bringing out the baby board for Who's Your Daddy?
Gordon: Sounds like a plan.
Jason: You got it.
Don: Alright.
Chico: So first, we go to the only show we know will be around next year...

DEAL OR NO DEAL.

Chico: It's been sold in 50% of the country.
Jason: Yes. This has always been a half hour show in a hour shows body. This will be monster next year.
Chico: Let's hope.
Jason: I am saying it now...
Don: I like what I've heard about this version so far.
Chico: What's that?
Jason: 22 cases...1/2 hour top prize $250,000.
Chico: Ah. Gotcha. Okay, next name dropped...
Jason: And Howie hosting.
Chico: Can't forget Howie. Next name dropped...

POWER OF 10.

Chico: Sony's actually working on a half-hour version of this.
Jason: Who's hosting?
Chico: Right now, all we know is that SPTI is shopping a half-hour version. That's pretty much it.
Jason: depending on the host. I don't think Drew can do it, due to time.
Chico: No.
Jason: The show is ok, not must see TV.
Chico: As it is right now, does it go above or below Deal?
Gordon: Neither is Much See TV, but I'll put Power of 10 on top
Jason: Deal over Power for me.
Chico: Don... you're the deciding vote.
Don: Right now, I'm thinking Deal on top.
Gordon: Next one?
Chico: Okay, so we have...

Deal or No Deal > POWER OF 10

Chico: Next is another name dropped with Deal or No Deal..

ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?

Jason: Below Power. I hate this show.
Gordon: I know you guys don't like the show. I do. Put it on top.
Chico: So far, all we know is that it's being shopped by Fox. It grew on me. I wasn't a fan before... I'm more of a fan of it now.
Don: I'd put it in between. 5th Grader has sorta grown on me, but I still find Deal more interesting.
Chico: So splitting the difference...

Deal or No Deal > 5TH GRADER > Power of 10.

Gordon: Next one?
Chico: Next up, something that has been in development limbo for a while...

THE JOKER'S WILD

Chico: I think they're still working the kinks out of this one at Sony.
Jason: Ugh. Below Power. This is a show that wont work.
Don: I'd say below Power of 10.
Chico: Gordon?
Gordon: As far down as you can put it.
Chico: Gotcha.

Deal or No Deal > 5th Grader > Power of 10 > JOKER'S WILD

Chico: Next up...

HOLD ONTO YOUR SEAT

Chico: Now we've been talking network for a while on this one, but what if it ends up in syndication?
Jason: Above Power...this has potential for me.
Don: Yeah, above Power sounds right.
Gordon: I'll go Above Power, just because the other shows are underwhelming
Chico: Okay, right up the middle with this one.

Deal or No Deal > 5th Grader > HOLD ONTO YOUR SEAT > Power of 10 > Joker's Wild
.

Chico: Next up...

NEWLYWED GAME

Chico: They're casting for this, as we reported not long ago.
Jason: This to me is almost critic proof. Below Hold ON...
Gordon: Not a bad show. below Hold ON
Chico: Can't go wrong with a time-tested formula (oh wait... they did. 1996.... They fixed that, though).
Don: Above Power.
Chico: Below Hold On, above Power it is.

Deal or No Deal > 5th Grader > Hold Onto Your Seat > NEWLYWED GAME > Power of 10 > Joker's Wild

Chico: And we can't have the Newlywed Game without...

THE DATING GAME

Chico: This will live or die on its host, but I was never a fan of it.
Jason: I do think it's time for the show that started the Dating craze...way before the bachelor was in diapers...sorry Lacey. Above Newlywed.
Chico: The bachelor minus body shots.
Gordon: I'm not a fan of the show. Under Joker's Wild.
Chico: Don?
Don: I'm going to say below 5th Grader.
Chico: That's a lot of difference to split, but I think I can do it.

Deal or No Deal > 5th Grader > Hold Onto Your Seat > Newlywed Game > DATING GAME > Power of 10 > Joker's Wild

Chico: We actually have Dating Game above Power of 10.. How?
Jason: because the attractive power of power of 10 is less than Dating. it just is. Sorry.
Gordon: Don't look at me.
Chico: Okay, next up...

DUEL

Jason: Premise?
Chico: “Duel” is described as a high-stakes game that combines the classic quizzer formula of questions and answers with the psychology and bluffing elements of gambling. It's based on a French format.
Jason: Interesting...below HOYS
Don: Sounds cool. I'd put that below 5th Grader.
Chico: It'll air on ABC in the states. I'm hoping it breaks the curse of the Fastest Finger.
Gordon: I'll put it over DOND. This has got potential

Deal or No Deal > DUEL > 5th Grader > Hold Onto Your Seat > Newlywed Game > Dating Game > Power of 10 > Joker's Wild.

Gordon: Next one?
Chico: Next up... (ominous drone) You hear that sound? Here comes trouble! Say hello to our spoilers!

First, let's say Merv Griffin's Crosswords gets a renewal and a retooling to boot?

Chico: Where would that fall?
Don: If the retooling ends up for the better... I'd put it below HOYS.
Gordon: Ill agree with under HOYS
Jason: Sorry, I like the show. same
Chico: Okay..

Deal or No Deal > Duel > 5th Grader > Hold Onto Your Seat > CROSSWORDS > Newlywed Game > Dating Game > Power of 10 > Joker's Wild.

Chico: Finally...

Let's say that due to some miracle, TEMPTATION gets renewed.

Jason: Below Joker's. Hell no would I watch that crap.
Don: If it stays in the current format, I'd agree. Below Joker's Wild.
Gordon: Its not as bad as Joker's. Barely. Right over it.
Chico: Yeah, but Jason and Don outvoted you, so... The final board...

Deal or No Deal > Duel > 5th Grader > Hold Onto Your Seat > Crosswords > Newlywed Game > Dating Game > Power of 10 > Joker's Wild > TEMPTATION

Jason: We shall see what happens in 2008
Chico: Yes we shall. And we'll see what happens when we give our viewers the casting sheets on the other side of the break.
Gordon: You're reading WLTI, the home of wacky games and game show heads.
Jason: 5 years on...and still the baddest.
