Episode 6.6 - Brains vs. Brawn
June 27

You've seen the best athletes in the world throw a little ball into a little hole with weapons ill designed for said purpose for the last MONTH. Now it's time for people throwing themselves onto little balls with those same weapons. And it's not just brawn, we're talking about. It's also brainpower. It's Brains vs. Brawn on Wipeout! Twelve bodybuilders vs. twelve nerds in a fight for $50,000.

THE WIPEOUT QUALIFIER

Tonight, our 24 human crash test dummies will have to face...

- Demolition Site. Push comes to shovel.
- Tropic Blunder: planks and trees.
- The Big Balls... Hammer Motivator and Ballsy's Bonus in play. Anyone who knocks Shredded Smallsy off his perch on the fourth ball will win $500.
- Tongue Twister. Run over the tongues. Under is a time penalty.
- Wipeout Dojo... Good for mind AND body.

The 12 with the fastest times will be pumped and crammed into the next round.

John Mahoney kicks Smallsy to the curb for $500.

ADVANCING TO ROUND 2
- Tonia "Tan-tastic" Moore
- hacker John Mahoney - $500 BONUS
- Amy Black
- Richard "Ripped Realtor" Furstenberg
- Andrew "Evil Genius" Fontes
- Jaime "Fish for Brains" Perry
- Kenny "Mindbender" Bates
- Jason "Potty-Bot" Diodati
- Rachel Baum
- Fred Serricchio
- Sabrina "Top Guns" Taylor
- Kyle "The Algae Avenger" Botsch

THE MIAMI POUND MACHINE

It's as simple as jump on the spinning platform and ride to the other side while dodging rotating sweeper arms. Only it's all in day-glo pink and blue. Remember, go OVER, not under. Go under, and you start over.

The first six to avoid being whipped into a brainy brawn smoothie by making it to the other side will come out of the dark and into the next stage.

ADVANCING TO ROUND 3
- hacker John Mahoney - $500 BONUS
- Richard "Ripped Realtor" Furstenberg
- Andrew "Evil Genius" Fontes
- Kenny "Mindbender" Bates
- Jason "Potty-Bot" Diodati
- Kyle "The Algae Avenger" Botsch

SUGAR SMACKS

We're getting candy crushed in the saga toward the Wipeout Zone. We start with a ride around the hoops and sweepers on the Birthday Cakes. Next, the Cake Ladder, the Lemon Drop slide, and past the windmill. First three players will get "Sugar crushed" in the Wipeout Zone.

ADVANCING TO THE WIPEOUT ZONE
- hacker John Mahoney - $500 BONUS
- Kenny "Mindbender" Bates
- Kyle "The Algae Avenger" Botsch

THE WIPEOUT ZONE

Three brains... ZERO brawn. FAIL... One shot at $50,000.

- The Slingshock
- The Throw-Tisserie: a tunnel with no floor.
- Dark Side of the Moon: a spinning "indoor" slide.
- Twisted Falls: Two tramps and two waterfalls...and two sweeper blades.

Fastest time wins 50 large. Can't be any simpler.

First is Dr. Kenny Bates, one of the slower brains, having been slow all day and is now a dark horse. It takes him one minute to get from the Slingshock to the Throw-Tisserie... and he gets taken out early. Learning from his mistakes. He aligns perfectly on Dark Side of the Moon, but speed turned out to be a factor. Second time lucky. He sets the opening time at 18:15.

John Mahoney is looking to add onto his $500. He's had ups and downs, but he can only go up from here in the Zone. Perfect rotation out of the Slingshock. ALMOST flawless on the Throw-Tisserie, but can't dismount. Dark Side of the Moon... on ONE. Twisted Falls... on ONE. Time: 5:10. Are you not entertained!

It's up to the Algae Avenger Kyle Botsch to crush that time. He's one clean run away from beating the time. He has 90 seconds to do it. Dark Side of the Moon... in ONE! This is going to be close. Twisted Falls... 30 seconds. And wipeout. JOHN MAHONEY COLLECTS $50,500 AS THIS WEEK'S WIPEOUT CHAMPION!

Come back next Thursday for 24 more players and four more painful courses. Until then... Good night.... and Big Balls.
