Episode 6.5 - Boss & Employee: Third Shift
May 30

We're staying up WAY past our bedtime to bring you the third shift of boss & employee Wipeout? Who'll trip and tumble all the way to the bank, and who'll just make passing glances at each other on Friday morning as if to say "Italics, that day did not happen"?

And helping us out, because the economics of television have changed and because Henson always needs interns, are Mike & Sully from "Disney & Pixar's Monsters University 3D"... intheatresjune21fromwaltdisneypicturesratedG.

THE WIPEOUT QUALIFIER

Tonight, our 12 coworker pairs will have to face...

- Cuckoo Clock: tiiiiime is not on you side as you get hammered by hammers.
- Tropic Blunder: planks and trees.
- The Big Balls... Hammer Motivator and Ballsy's Bonus in play. Anyone who knocks Trumpsy off his perch on the fourth ball will win $500.
- Tongue Twister. Run over the tongues. Under is a time penalty.
- Break Room... 15 minutes of union-mandated wipeouts.

The six pairs with the fastest times will be promoted to the next round.

ADVANCING TO ROUND 2
- revved up reverends Jesse Ruby & Nic Ferguson
- kidiots Eric Welch & Billy Minogue
- yoga poseurs Kelly Quinn & Sherry Pedersen
- pizza famiglia Brian & Ben Beckman
- boss lady & boytoy Jessica Lawson & Jimmy McGann
- lousy lifeguards Carlos Perez & Ray Gonzalez

THE MIAMI POUND MACHINE

It's as simple as jump on the spinning platform and ride to the other side while dodging rotating sweeper arms. Only it's all in day-glo pink and blue. Remember, go OVER, not under. Go under, and you start over.

The first four complete teams to the other side will come out of the dark and into the next stage.

ADVANCING TO ROUND 3
- kidiots Eric Welch & Billy Minogue
- pizza famiglia Brian & Ben Beckman
- boss lady & boytoy Jessica Lawson & Jimmy McGann
- lousy lifeguards Carlos Perez & Ray Gonzalez

WIPEOUT CITY

Today in Wipeout City, you're going to wish you never called your IT department, because the nerds in residents will be lobbing keys and Apple... juice.Navigate through the Bridge Over Troubled Waters, around the Helicopter Spin to the Spinning Helipad, and finally, cross the Water Main, grab the Power Line, and drop through the Manhole to complete the your computer training course. First two teams to do so head to the Wipeout Zone where ultimately ALL BETS (AND ALLEGIANCES) ARE OFF.

ADVANCING TO THE WIPEOUT ZONE
- kidiots Eric Welch & Billy Minogue
- lousy lifeguards Carlos Perez & Ray Gonzalez

THE WIPEOUT ZONE

Now it's time to see how serious you are about $50,000... because the TEAMS ARE NO MORE!

- The Slingshock
- The Throw-Tisserie: a tunnel with no floor.
- Dark Side of the Moon: a spinning "indoor" slide.
- Twisted Falls: Two tramps and two waterfalls...and two sweeper blades.

Fastest time wins 50 large. Can't be any simpler.

First up, children's entertainer Eric Welch, who rode his teammate Billy Minogue to the Zone on the back of a win at Wipeout City. Now, he's got to make it happen alone. Eric treats the Throw-Tisserie as a giant hamster wheel and shimmies his way across in one. He wipes his first out on the pad in Dark Side of the Moon. Second time lucky here, and just as lucky on Twisted Falls... oops, spoke too soon. He has a long swim back to the start. He ends up with a time of 9:37. Impressive, but can it be beaten by his employee Billy?

Billy: TIME OUT.

Now it's up to the lousy lifeguards Carlos Perez & Ray Gonzalez. For "one of the worst guys to work with", Ray has been the driving force behind this team's appearance in the Zone, having finished first in Wipeout City. Ray himself has had an incredible run on the show, but can he translate that into a run at the Zone? He starts with a very lousy landing in the Zone, making up for it in the Throw-Tisserie. At 2 minutes, he's already at Dark Side of the Moon. He's fast. But he missteps the slide and has to start again. He makes up the time at Twisted Falls and sets the time to beat at 7:53. Can Carlos beat it?

Carlos: TIME OUT

BY THREE SECONDS, RAY GONZALEZ WINS THE $50,000 AND THE TITLE OF WIPEOUT CHAMPION!

Come back next Thursday for 24 more players and four more painful courses. Until then... Good night.... and Big Balls.
