Episode 5.13 - Gorillas in Our Midst

It is the toughest course ever designed for television... It is the greatest challenge ever created for $50,000... It's 24 average Americans... making complete idiots of themselves.

THE WIPEOUT QUALIFIER

Tonight, the Qualifier consists of..

- Monkey Business: sweeper bar complete with Mr. Jungles, the banana-throwing gorilla
- The Big Balls... Flipping Motivator and Ballsy's Bonus in play. Anyone who knocks Disco Smallsy off his perch on the fourth ball will win $500.
- The Poundabout. It's a scary-go-round.
- The School Daze... Reliving the pains of your high school years.

The 24 jungle boogie-ers will take on the course, and the 12 with the fastest times will advance to stage 2.

Julian McFadden has 1000 friends and 50 cents for each of them thanks to knocking off Smallsy, who's a friend with benefits.

Matt McSweeney is KING of the Qualifier, as he knocks off the little jester for $500. Joining him in the next stage...

THE SCAREGROUNDS

From the spinning platform, ride the trapeze through the maze of sweepers and revolving planks, but watch out for the Signwinder! Climb over the slide and onto the finish platform, and you move on to the next round.

PETRIFIED FOREST

A zipline leads you to the forest, where you have to avoid the sweeper logs and the wrath of a couple of prospecting hipsters in the Tippy Trap. First three claim jumpers move on to the Wipeout Zone.

THE WIPEOUT ZONE

Three men enter, one leaves with $50,000. Tonight in the Wipeout Zone.

- The Bombastic Blob
- The Swing Blades.
- The Torrential Twister.
- The Tectonic Planks.

Fifty-thou will go to the player with the quickest time.

First up, Julian McFadden, who's been Mr. Popular outside of the course, but not so popular with the course. He blazes through the Wipeout Zone. But he takes a hit on the Tectonic Planks. He ends up with a time of 5:45.

Michael Ayoob has the hit of the week with a complete 720 into the Zone off of the Bombastic Blob. But he keeps twisting his 720 into the Swing Blades. After three tries, he's going to need a nearly flawless run the rest of the way. And even then... a wipeout wipes HIM out.

Will Kevin Osborne parlay his start on the Swing Blades to the first-place finish? He's got three minutes to play with the Tectonic Planks... He's staring at 50 grand... but he blows the landing. But with a final time of just over FIVE MINUTES, KEVIN OSBORNE JUST WROTE A HAPPY ENDING TO THE TUNE OF $50,000!

Next time, another $50,000 and another 24 brave, yet foolhardy souls to take on the course. Until then, good night.... and Big Balls.
