5.4 - Family Tree The weather outside is frightful, but the Big Balls are delightful. "Winter Wipeout" is back and colder than ever! It starts with 12 wind-chilled family pairs, and end with one of them winning $50,000 and the title of Winter Wipeout Champion. THE WINTER WIPEOUT QUALIFIER Tonight, the Qualifier consists of.. - The Frosted Family Tree. They'll hit
every branch on the way down. The 12 families will take on the course, and the six with the fastest times will advance to stage 2. ADVANCING TO ROUND 2 PAIN IN THE ICE Contestants start huddled around an ice hole and drop onto a Fishing Pole sweeper arm onto a landing platform. Then it's a slick walk across the Lumber Tumbler over to the other side. Then it's a perilous trip across the Frosty Foot Bridge with a freezing rush from the Arctic Waterfall. Then they'll move it or luge it on the Snow Chute to the finish platform. First three to survive this trip to the fishin' hole move on to the next stage. ADVANCING TO ROUND 3 THE COLDHEARTED SNAKE First up, two sets of slithering snow sweepers, then it's onto Plummet Summit, a 25-foot high rotating slide. Then it's the Shivering Timbers, rotating planks. Then comes the Snowball and onto the finish platform. First two families move on to the Winter Wipeout Zone. Okay and we have a little problem here. Gabrielle & Shana quit. Vision & Gentle complete the stage. And only Randy makes it across for the fabulous diva cousins Randy & Amanda passes through, as Amanda quits. How do we solve this problem? Let's go to Vanessa, who says... the Winter brothers win $25,000! NOW... Randy & Amanda get to challenge the brothers for the other $25,000. ADVANCING TO THE WIPEOUT ZONE THE WINTER WIPEOUT ZONE Boldly and coldly going forward where no player has gone before... the brand new Winter Wipeout Zone! Tonight... - Killer Luge Since the Winters have $25,000, the OTHER $25,000 will go to the family with the quickest combined time. First up, Vision & Gentle. Vision gets the draw and sets a time of 8:35. That will be the starting point for brother Gentle. ... but first, Randy Silva will take on the Zone. He sets a time of 8:19, a lead of 16 seconds. Gentle Winter is anything but gentle to the Zone. Gentle turns mental and ends up with a time of 14:31. That's the time Amanda Martinez needs to win if she wants to claim $25,000. If not, then the Winter brothers win the whole kit'n'kaboodle. But she takes a dive on the Psychedelic Snowglobe. And because Amanda's a quitter McQuitpants... THE WINTER BROTHERS WIN THE MONEY AND THE TITLE! Warm up for another 24 chilly contestants and another set of bone-chilling courses next time. Until then, good night.... and Big Balls.
