Episode 5.2 - Ice Ice Baby
January 12

The weather outside is frightful, but the Big Balls are delightful. "Winter Wipeout" is back and colder than ever! It starts with 24 wind-chilled warriors, and it'll end with one of them winning $50,000 and the title of Winter Wipeout Champion.

THE WINTER WIPEOUT QUALIFIER

Tonight, the Qualifier consists of..

- Snowboard Half-Pipe. Rolling logs plus gravity equals a quick slide in the downward direction.
- The Snow Boot. You don't see a boot... yet. But you will.
- The Big Balls... Motivator and Ballsy's Bonus in play. Anyone who knocks a toy moose off his perch on the fourth ball will win $500.
- The Snowfall... with a giant rotating snowflake
- Avalanche Alley... where conditions are perfect for falling on your... ice.

The 24 will take on the course, and the 12 with the fastest times will advance to stage 2.

Should be known that Christian Debernardi was dressed as a major movie award statuette whose name we can't legally say. But his sword is missing. He comes in a time of 8:11, which will probably not be enough to finish. Abner Ramirez was THIS close to knocking out the money moose... but that doesn't work. He does clock in at 2:48, the second fastest of the day

PAIN IN THE ICE

Contestants start huddled around an ice hole and drop onto a Fishing Pole sweeper arm onto a landing platform. Then it's a slick walk across the Lumber Tumbler over to the other side. Then it's a perilous trip across the Frosty Foot Bridge with a freezing rush from the Arctic Waterfall. Then they'll move it or luge it on the Snow Chute to the finish platform. First six to survive this trip to the fishin' hole move on to the next stage.

THE COLDHEARTED SNAKE

First up, two sets of slithering snow sweepers, then it's onto Plummet Summit, a 25-foot high rotating slide. Then it's the Shivering Timbers, rotating planks. Then comes the Snowball and onto the finish platform. First three move on to the Winter Wipeout Zone.

THE WINTER WIPEOUT ZONE

Boldly and coldly going forward where no player has gone before... the brand new Winter Wipeout Zone! Tonight...

- Killer Luge
- The Psychedelic Snowglobe: press the middle button on this snowy maze to release the exit platform.
- The Frozen Fury: uphill hurdles
- Iced Over: revolving diamond platforms

Fifty large goes to the quickest time.

First is Country Strong Abner Ramirez. Makes a perfect launch into the zone. ABner picks off the button on the Snowglobe early... but it takes three spins to get to the platform, but he slips off of Frozen Fury. Get it the second time. Now at the six-minute mark, Abner gets iced over on Iced Over, waiting too long. He ends up with a time of 14:40.

Cashmere Luxury is next in the Zone, as Austin James. He's falling behind the pace set of by Abner, but he still has ample time to conquer Iced Over... and he takes the lead with 8:24.

But will it be enough, or will Kyle Davisson take it all? He gets power washed on the Killer Luge. He tags the button but takes a sac fly to get him to the other side. He's left with 30 seconds to take on Iced Over... but he takes a costly wipeout, giving $50,000 AND THE TITLE OF WIPEOUT CHAMPION TO CASHMERE LUXURY, AUSTIN JAMES!

Warm up for another 24 chilly contestants and another set of bone-chilling courses next time. Until then, good night.... and Big Balls.
