Keep Hope Alive (Ometepe) CLICK HERE TO READ THE HAPPENINGS AT ZAPATERA Francesca was the first to arrive on Redemption Island. But she would not be alone for long, as Rob, sensing that Matt is playing buddy-buddy nicey-nice, is too much of a threat to keep around, working his magic to send Matt to Redemption Island in a blindside. Tonight, he and Francesca will duel to see who stays in the game... and who goes home. NIGHT 5: "I'M SHOCKED. WHY ARE YOU HERE?" First, let me say, I'm not... Matt admits to be completely blindsided as he arrives on Redemption Island with nothing more than the shirt on his back. Feeling like a goober, he struggles to pull himself together for what may come. MEANWHILE, BACK AT CAMP... "Tonight could not have gone any better." Kristina used her idol. Phillip stayed true to the game. Rob's first big move went MASTERFULLY. Now he's thinking about Andrea, who is smart enough to know that she's just been double-crossed. DAY 6: YOU KNOW WHAT GREENY WOULD SAY RIGHT NOW... "Let's duel!" Or in more lengthy Burnett-Probst terms...
At about the same time... the tribes proper get this...
Drawing rocks give us... Ashley and Andrea. They're going over to watch the duel, while Rob doesn't want either of them to get smart as to what's going on. DUEL 1: FRANCESCA VS. MATT "This is the first step in your journey to get even." Thanks for that, Jeff. Very informative. Using rope and sticks, you are to retrieve three sets of keys that will open three locks on your cage door. The first person to unlock his or her door and pass through will stay in the game. The loser... is going home. FOR REAL THIS TIME. Francesca is the first to retrieve a key. Slow and steady wins the first key. Matt's stick... a little uneven. Francesca gets her SECOND key. She's one away from certain victory. Matt, on the other hand, is struggling. Francesca's stick... BREAKS! This could be a shot for Matt. He gets the first... and the second... and we are level pegging. It's a horse race, ladies and gentleman. Francesca has her final key... almost. Matt has HIS final key... GOT IT! He's unlocking! And a come from behind victory for MATT! So, here's the deal. Matt continues to live on Redemption Island rent-free. Francesca, on the other hand, learns that the price of failure is STEEP, as she is made to burn her buff in the fire on the way out. As for the witnesses, it is completely up to them what they share. Andrea & Ashley return with news of Matt's victory. Rob's got his work cut out for him with Andrea, as he tries to gain favor with someone who could very well be a threat. Rob says that she's still in the alliance. Andrea still has a feeling that she's in a sticky situation. "I just don't believe him. Deep down, I'm still really pissed about what they did." DAY 8 R/I-CHALLENGE: WATER WHEEL OF JEOPARDY! (for chairs, pillows, tarp, blankets, and a lantern) Three members of each tribe would be strapped to a large wheel. Three other tribe members would spin the wheel, which would cause one strapped in castaway at a time to be dunked head first into water. While under water, the castaway would take water in the mouth, which they would then spit into a tube. Once the tube was filled, a ball would be released. One tribe member would then solve a slide puzzle to create a labyrinth. Guide your ball through the labyrinth in order to win. Sitting out for Zapatera: RALPH & SARINA. The other six... even with Julie's... help (?), decide to throw the challenge. Did their plan work? Winners.... OMETEPE! ... and it turns out that Rob was so fast that they probably didn't even need to throw it. BACK AT CAMP... the tribe oversees the spoils of their victories. Rob thinks that there's a clue somewhere in the stash, and like a game of "Finders Keepers" gone mad, everyone's looking for it! Rob finds what he's looking for... underneath Phil's ass. LITERALLY.
