The first runner-up receives $25,000 at least, while the second runner-up wins at least $15,000.

Semifinalists are guaranteed at least $10,000, while quarterfinalists are guaranteed $5000 for participation. As always, any and all winning accrued depends on how far up the ladder a player goes.

End of round:
Andrew: $1400
Papa: $4100
Matt: $7400

Double Jeopardy! categories: Great Brit, Sci-Fi/Fantasy Heroines, Teens in History, Religion, What Kin Are You to Me?, Filthy 4-Letter Words.

Daily Double #1: $1600 Great Brit. Andrew ($3400 to Papa's $4100 and Matt's $7800) bets $1000. The clue: she's written 2 volumes of memoirs: "The Downing Street Years" & "Path to Power". Andrew's response: "Hmm... Shoot. I really have no idea." Correct response: Who was Margaret Thatcher? Andrew drops to $2400, but in a way you can't help but love.

Daily Double #2: $1200 What Kin Are You to Me?. Papa ($7700 to Matt’s $18,200 and Andrew’s $8400) fronts $3000. The clue: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., is this to Senator Edward M. Kennedy. Papa’s response: "What is brother?" Correct response: what is nephew? Papa drops to $4700.

Matt has learned how to play two rounds and as a result, is in the lead at the end of Double Jeopardy!

End of round:
Andrew: $8400
Papa: $5500
Matt: $19,000

Final Jeopardy! category: American Music. The clue: on December 11, 1987 it was designated as the national march of the United States. Correct response: What is "Stars and Stripes Forever"?

Papa's response: What is Stars and Stripes? WRONG. Wager: $1500. Total: $4000.
Andrew’s response: What is the Washington Post March? WRONG. Wager: $1900. Total: $6500.
Matt’s response: What is Hail to the Chief? WRONG. Wager: $7200. Total: $11,800.

Suddenly what was a runaway isn't, as Andrew is one good Double Jeopardy! round away from taking the forefront. Papa, a little more work to do. Matt, meanwhile, just has to duplicate today's showing. The scores going into part 2...
